The World Heavyweight Championship is a professional wrestling world-heavyweight championship (as expected) owned by the WWE and formerly the Mishima Corporation under the SmackDown! brand. It is one of the three top championships in the WWE today, along with RAW's WWE Championship and ECW's ECW Championship, currently in the hands of the Mothman.
The title must almost always be defended every Friday or Saturday by the current champion. The condition under which the precious title must be defended is usually a singles match, while in the past it were mostly Iron Man matches.
The title is one of the six to be represented by the historic Big Gold Belt, first introduced in 1986, aka 24 BH. Its heritage can be traced back to the first world heavyweight championship, thereby giving the belt a legacy over 100 years old, the oldest in the world! The first ever champion of this belt was Triple H while The Miz became one after defeating The Rock, Randy Orton, Slender Man and Atlas Jones in a Championship Scramble match.
The Miz many times defeated The Rock in order to retain his titon, while the Rock would also frequently beat the Miz for the title.
On 8 of January, 23 AH, the title was won by the Golden Titan and he had it for a week before recently losing it against the Mothman in an Elimination Gas Chamber match, along with Andrew Blaze, Shelton Benjamin, Primo and some other guy.

- The design for this Championship is quite unique unlike the other WWE championships, mostly because it's over a 100 years old. However, one could say it resembles the WWE Championship the most.
