William (Last name unknown), also known as Il Cupo Mietitore (The Grim Reaper), is a highly feared and enigmatic figure in the criminal underworld. Originally serving as the most lethal hitman and trusted advisor of the Corleonesi faction of the Sicilian Mafia, he is now the secret leader of the North Port Mafia, operating out of Port Haven.
A man shrouded in mystery, William’s past remains largely unknown, with his first recorded appearance being in Sicily, where he quickly gained notoriety due to his supernatural ability to induce instant death with a mere glance. His unparalleled lethality, combined with his strategic mind and unwavering loyalty, made him an invaluable asset to the Corleonesi. However, following the death of the faction’s boss, William relocated to Port Haven, where he built a new empire from the shadows.
Despite his immense power and wealth, William prefers to operate from behind the scenes, maintaining a low profile while controlling a vast criminal network. His organization thrives through illegal gambling, counterfeit goods, and strategic bribery, all while using front bosses to conceal his true influence. Ruthless yet disciplined, refined yet terrifying, William is both a ghost and a godfather—his existence whispered in fear and reverence among those who dare cross his path.
Background[]
William's past is shrouded in mystery, with very little known about his origins. He appeared seemingly out of nowhere, catching the attention of the Corleonesi faction of the Sicilian mafia with his unique abilities. William's power to induce instant death with just a single glance made him a valuable asset to the organization, and he quickly rose through the ranks to become one of the boss's most trusted advisors and top hitman.
Personality[]
William is a very cunning, intelligent, and ruthless individual, known for his stoic demeanor and rough exterior. He does not show emotions easily and is considered to be a cold-blooded killer. William has a no-nonsense approach to his work and is very efficient in carrying out his assignments. His reputation as a hitman is well-known, and he is feared by both allies and enemies alike.
Abilities[]
1. Death Gaze: William's primary power is to induce instant death with just a single glance. This power works on any mortal beings, including normal humans, animals, aliens, metahumans, and superpowered individuals. It has no known limitations or drawbacks and can target multiple individuals at once. His highest kill count is 100, achieved by simultaneously killing all of his targets with a single glance.
2. Long-Range Lethality: His power has an effective range as far as William can see, so he can use it even through telescopes or binoculars.
3. Photo Death: The deadliest aspect of his powers is that he can even use it by looking at a picture of his target. This makes his ability even more formidable and far-reaching.
4. Metaphysical Nature: This power is metaphysical and conceptual in nature, described as death itself declaring the target dead. There's no way to counter it or shield from it.
5. Invulnerability to any form of Physical Harm: William cannot be physically harmed. This aspect of his power makes him invincible in combat situations and immune to assassination methods. He is not immortal, he still ages normally, the only way he dies is through old age and nothing else
6. Precognition: if anyone wants to kidnap or abduct or even hurt William, he will receive visions on who are they, their plans and the whole scenario, even if the plan changes or the people involved, he will know.
Due to these powers, William does not use guns or martial arts in his work.
Role[]
William is exclusively employed as the top hitman for the Corleonesi and is also one of the boss's most trusted advisors. His reputation and abilities make him an invaluable asset to the organization, and he is often tasked with carrying out the most important and dangerous assignments. Despite his role as a killer, William is fiercely loyal to the Corleonesi/Sicilian Mafia and will stop at nothing to protect their interests.
Current Whereabouts[]
After the death of the Corleonesi boss, William relocated to Port Haven to start anew. He now runs his own crime syndicate (dubbed as the North Port Crime Family), using front bosses to mislead potential rivals, competitors, and law enforcement. His syndicate controls two underground casinos spread throughout the city, each offering blackjack, poker, slot machines, roulette, baccarat, and craps, as well as private high-stakes blackjack and poker rooms. Additionally, his organization is involved in the export of counterfeit goods, primarily fake watches, shoes, designer bags, electronics, and other items.
William also owns a small, nondescript restaurant named "Siciliana," located in a quiet neighborhood. The back room serves as his office. His operations are led by two Italian-American front bosses, Carlo Roselli and Umberto Genovese. Each of them has their own lieutenants, who, in turn, oversee their own crews. This structure provides multiple layers of insulation between William and the syndicate’s activities.
The syndicate has approximately 80 to 90 members, with 75 being hardened enforcers and hitmen, distributed among the crews. His underground casinos are located in low-profile areas, while his smuggling operations are based in the city's warehouse districts. To avoid attracting attention, Carlo’s and Umberto’s lieutenants bribe local cops and politicians within the districts where they operate. They also employ unaffiliated thugs to carry out dirty work, adding another layer of protection.
Carlo and Umberto report to William on a weekly basis, meeting him at his office in Siciliana. During these meetings, they provide updates on the syndicate’s income, revenue, problems encountered, and the current situation on the streets. They also discuss strategies, future moves, and adjustments to ongoing operations.
To the outside world, Carlo Roselli and Umberto Genovese appear to be the syndicate’s leaders. However, in reality, the true boss—the one pulling the strings behind the scenes—is William.
