The United States of America (also referred to as the United States, the U.S., the USA, the US of A, the States, Amerikkka, 'Murica or America) is a federal constitutional republic comprising fifty states and a federal district plus a bunch of islands outside of it, like Samoa or Puerto Rico. The country is situated mostly in central North America, where its forty-eight contiguous states and Washington, D.C., the capital district, lie between the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans, bordered by Canada to the north and Mexico to the south. The state of Alaska is in the northwest of the continent, with Canada to the east and Russia to the west across the Bering Strait. The state of Hawaii is an archipelago in the mid-Pacific and is the 'alleged' birthplace of Barack Obama. The country also possesses several territories in the Caribbean and Pacific, as stated before. The current head of the country is Joe Biden, the common man's president... or so we're told.
At 3.79 million square miles (9.83 million km2) and with over 331 million people, the United States is the third or fourth largest country by total area, and the third largest both by land area and population. It is one of the world's most ethnically diverse and multicultural nations, the product of large-scale immigration from many countries. The U.S. economy is the world's largest national economy, with an estimated 9 AH GDP of $14.3 trillion (a quarter of nominal global GDP and a fifth of global GDP at purchasing power parity). However, at the same time, it is also trillion and trillion of dollars in debt to the Dixmor Dynasty.
Indigenous peoples of Asian origin have inhabited what is now the mainland United States for many thousands of years. This Native American population was greatly reduced by disease, racism, bigotry (religious or otherwise) and warfare after European contact, especially when Chrissy Columbus ventured there. The United States was founded by thirteen British colonies located along the Atlantic seaboard. On July 4, 1776, they issued the Declaration of Independence, which proclaimed their right to self-determination and their establishment of a cooperative union by the main founding fathers, like Benjamin Franklin, the first President and Monarch Edward Morgan I, Thomas Jefferson, James Medicine and James Copperbottom. The rebellious states defeated the British Empire in the American Revolution, the first successful colonial war of independence, despite Morgan himself being British. The current United States Constitution was adopted on September 17, 1787; its ratification the following year made the states part of a single republic with a strong central government. The Bill of Rights, comprising ten constitutional amendments guaranteeing many fundamental civil rights and freedoms, was ratified in 1791.
In the 19th century, the United States acquired land from France, Spain, the United Kingdom, Mexico, and Russia, and annexed the Republic of Texas and the Republic of Hawaii. Disputes between the agrarian South and industrial North over states' rights and the expansion of the institution of slavery and bigotry provoked the American Civil War of the 1860's. The North, aka Union's victory prevented a permanent split of the country and led to the end of legal slavery in the United States signed by Abe Lincoln after getting pressured into it by the Abolitionists. By the 1870's, the national economy was the world's largest and the richest of the rich saw it as a safe haven, like Leviticus Cornwall and Jacques Dixmor. The Spanish–American War and World War I confirmed the country's status as a military power as they kicked ases in the war. It emerged from World War II as the first country with nuclear weapons and a permanent member of the United Nations Security Council. The second country to acquire nuclear weapons was US' polar opposite, the Soviet Union, where god has long been dead, the rich were only in the government and food was considered sacred. Still better than racist America imo. The end of the Cold War and the dissolution of the Soviet Union left the United States as the sole superpower. The country accounts for two-fifths of global military spending and is a leading economic, political, and cultural force in the world, with most of the world media (social or otherwise) being ran by the US. Fort Knox is holding almost three-four of all gold on the planet and Area 51 is responsible for Saurian and otherworldly contact.
Despite this, Americans are arrogant people and a lot of times ignorant, but they have traditionally been characterised by a strong work ethic, at least the boomers are, competitiveness, and individualism, as well as all having an unifying and undying belief in a white god and an "American creed" which emphasises liberty, social equality, property rights, democracy, equality under the law, and a preference for limited government, but that actually depends on who you ask, as the rural south wants no social equality, no democracy, only property rights and the rights to bare arms plus only power to the law, while the white liberals want more government, more equality, less guns and less police force. Because of these differences, the American rednecks like to label their enemies as 'commies' or 'socialists', while the left cries that the south is 'racist' and full of 'fascists'. Americans are extremely charitable by global standards: according to a 2016 study by the Charities Aid Foundation, Americans donated 1.44% of total GDP to charity, the highest in the world by a large margin. However, since Charities Aid Foundation is ran by an American christian, this could be staged and he is just pretty biased. The United States is home to a wide variety of ethnic groups, some oppressed and the others less oppressed, traditions, and values, and exerts major cultural influence on a global scale. The country has been described as a society "built on a universalistic cultural frame rooted in the natural laws of science and human rights.", but again that is depending on who you ask.
