Ultor Corporation (better known as Ultor Corp.) is a company belonging to the Ultor Dynasty. The Corp. is owned by billionaire Bruce Ultor and was run by his business manager Lucius Fox until his death by a missile on November, 2017. It was founded by a merchant and father of Bruce, Thomas Ultor. It changed and gradually grew when it was officially erected in the 19th century when Thomas founded Ultor Shipping and Ultor Chemical. Along with Ultor Manufacturing, which came later, the Ultor Corp. became a major powerhouse in the Gotham City. In addition to providing an income for Bruce Ultor, the various activities of the organisation help facilitate his Batman activities in Gotham.
History[]
Descending from Alba Ultor and his wife and cousin, Petra Ultor (a Polish actress), Thomas Ultor managed the Ultor Dynasty's then-modest fortune by buying cheap property and holding on to it as Gotham City grew. As a result, upon his assassination at age fifty-two, Thomas left a considerable real-estate fortune in the form of a merchant house which he left to his son and daughter Bruce and Jana; both of whom became prominent citizens of Gotham City in the late 1970s.
One of the most well known branches is Ultor Technologies, also known as UltorTech, and is the biggest division of Ultor Corp. It is involved in the retrieval and research of alien technology. It's main rival is Cobblepot Industries, despite both of the companies being allied to the Dixmor Project. The subsidiary is sometimes used by Batman as means to acquire new technologies.
Ultor Steel is one of the oldest steel mills and metal refineries in Gotham and supplies steel for shipbuilding. It also studies and replicates alien technology. This has led to Batman getting priority on technology and alloys for him to study. Ultor Steel's alliance with the US Navy and the US Government has produced numerous contacts for Ultor Corp.
In Batman[]
In the video game, Batman: Arkham Asylum, Ultor Corporation could be seen in the distance across from Arkham Asylum. When scanned by the player, it was the answer to one of Paul Fortunato's riddles.
In Batman: Arkham City, like in Batman: Arkham Asylum, Ultor Corp. could be seen in the distance. Before the game's release, it was glimpsed in a number of trailers and screenshots. The building was located near Gotham City Hall.
