Info[]
Tomaso was the founder and Don of the Falcone Family until his assassination in 1959 at the hands of his own son, Carlo Falcone. The family was later led by Carlo until his death in 1976. Tomaso was the leader of the crime family for only two years.
Foundation of the Family[]
The Falcone family was founded in 1957 by Tomaso and was active in New York until his death two years later in 1959. Like most mafia families, the majority of their money came from selling drugs that they smuggled in from Canada.
The family's revenue quickly dried up when the Vinci Family joined up with them and also started selling illegal drugs, taking most of Falcones money away. This lack of sustainable income caused a major conflict between them and Vincis, as the two groups fought over what little money-making opportunities remained. This struggle for control came to be known as the Vinci-Falcone War.
Death[]
After only one year of conflict the war was brought to an end when Tomaso's own son, Carlo Falcone, conspired with Vinci family Lawyer Leone Galante to kill Tomaso. With the assistance of Giovanni Spollitto, the two planted a bomb in Tomaso's car, killing him instantly. With Tommy dead, Carlo Falcone took over his operations and led the Falcone family out of what remained into a greater success.
