Thomas Patrick "Tom" Sullivan is a character from Call of Duty: World at War (2008).
Biography[]
Tom Sullivan was born January 17, 1915 in Dayton, Ohio to an Irish-American family. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps shortly before World War II and rose to the rank of a sergeant. He befriended Charles Miller and Benjamin Roebuck. In 1942, Sullivan commanded a rescue squad in order to rescue Miller and Kevin Pyle from a group of Japanese soldiers on Makin Atoll. They rescued Miller but failed to rescue Pyle. Sullivan, Roebuck and Miller became known as the "old breed" towards the end of the war. They had an eighteen-year-old recruit named Martin Polonsky on their squad in 1944. On September 15, 1944 after a successful battle on Pelileu Island, Sullivan was killed by a Japanese bonsai attacker and Roebuck took his place as sergeant of the squad.
