The Triple War was caused when Outworld attacked Earth thanks to Lard's Accords destruction and Elder Gods' powers being thrown down the toilet, making it possible for Outworld to attack the Earth without ten victories in the Mortal Kombat Tournament. During Shao Kahn's assault, however, his planet was getting one of its own by Azazel and his minions, who wanted to take back his jewels and get control over the diamond mines which originally belonged to him.
