The Boom! Pilot is an American Army Pilot who has existed on the Internet and the entire world wide web since the Golden Era of YT of 2005 (or 5 AH) and has been working in the US Army since his existence.
His actual name is Grime Robert Ripper (a pun on Grim Reaper, I know) and he was a star in the Pearl Jam video Do the Evolution, dropping an atomic bomb off into a city at the end of the vid, at exactly 2 mins and 53 seconds, which started the meme of 'WTF? BOOM!' and gave him the assuming nickname.
The meme however, is not a complete copy off of the PJ video and is instead edited with beeping sounds at the beginning, which were taken from some vintage first-person shooter game, Ted DiBiase Sr. yelling "WTF?" (as he was completely transformed thanks to auditioning on an Extreme Makeover episode of Steve Moustache Show), bomb dropping off into a city (sometimes tho, the explosion scene is different, like having mushroom clouds appearing and having nothing to do with the Evolution) and is then followed by a sinister laugh by The Boom! Pilot.
The meme was frequently used in old-school YTP's, which were all amazing, especially those concerning King Harkinian and his bunch. Like the time when Link opened a treasure chest containing a bomb and all that was heard was this meme, the WTF!? followed by a large explosion and sinister laughter. The performer of the meme? The skeletony Boom! Pilot, of course.
