Tao Cheng (born December 1, 1987) is the eldest son of Wei Cheng and the underboss of his father's triad gang. Tao doesn't know a word in English and also took a lot of ecstasy (possibly some other drugs as well). Because of those two factors, a translator was sent with him to Blaine County, California for the drug and arms trafficking businesses, among others, to expand. Tao and his translator made contact with Trevor Phillips but screwed him over for a redneck gang called the O'Neill brothers. That made Trevor infuriated so he assaulted Tao and burned down the O'Neill brothers' meth lab. Tao is never seen again, unless ending C is chosen. In that ending, he is seen in a parking lot with Wei Cheng and some other gang members. Tao is capable of being killed by Franklin Clinton. However, it is not mandatory. If Tao is spared, he will be one of the very few surviving members of his gang, alongside his translator.
