Sunrise Valley is a fictional town in eastern Connecticut near the Atlantic Ocean. The town population was 20,414 as of the 2010 U.S. Census. Heavenly Heroes is mostly set in this town. The town’s motto is “hope for tomorrow shines upon us”.
Sunrise Valley has a rivalry with the nearby town of Sunset Hills.
Demographics[]
As of the census of 2010, there were 18,414 people residing in the town. The racial makeup of the town was 87.0% white (with 84.0% of the population non-Hispanic white), 4.6% Black or African American, 5.0% Asian, 2.4% from two or more races and 1.0% Native American. Hispanics or Latinos of any race were 6.3% of the population. The age distribution was 25.7% under the age of 18, 8.4% from 18 to 24, 39.3% from 25 to 44, 20.1% from 45 to 64, and 9.5% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 37 years. For every 100 females, there were 97 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 96 males.
The median income for a household in the CDP was $62,936 and the median income for a family was $79,334. Males had a median income of $46,250 versus $42,550 for females. The per capita income for the CDP was $40,520, and 4.4% of the population lived below the poverty line.
