Sergei Chernov is a main character within the Soviet campaign of Call of Duty: World at War.
Biography[]
Sergei Chernov was born March 1, 1926 in a small village of Siberia. He grew up in an artistic, pacifistic and religious family who were against WW2. They thought of it as evil and sinful. Sergei's parents were both distraught when they son was drafted into the Soviet Army in 1944. He served as a private alongside Dimitri Petrenko and under the orders of Sargent Viktor Reznov. Reznov played obvious favorites with Dimitri and even gave Chernov sith for writing in his diary about the war. On April 30, 1945, Chernov was fatally wounded by a German soldier during the Battle of Berlin. Petrenko finished his job and Reznov subsequently handed him Chernov's diary. It was at that moment that he thought he had gone perhaps a bit too hard on Chernov. Even Dimitri agreed. All in all, Chernov was quite similar to the American private Martin Polonsky as neither one was very well liked by their squad.
