Sean "Seany" O'Leary is a major character in the American Crime Tales series who appears in Tales from Queen City: The Ballad of Sean Killian . He is voiced by Greg O'Connor.
Background[]
Sean O'Leary was born in 1977 to parents, Darren and Sheila. His granfather, Redmond was the founder of an Irish crime family which he named the O'Leary Clan . As a child he was often exposed to violence as his older brothers, Neil and Frank would constantly fight and he would spend much of his time isolated from the rest of his siblings because his oldest brother, John was always gone, Neil and Frank were always fighting, and Patrick and Jane stuck together, leaving Sean alone. He would spend time with his brother, John, helping tend his marijuana crops in the family house's attic, but when John was not around he would walk through the Flannigan neighborhood where he would often hangout with his various neighborhood gangs. By the age of 12, Sean was begining to get into gambling and became an expert card player, often participating in and winning high stakes games with the local youth. As he got older he became involved with running illegal card games and became known around Flannigan as an expert gambler. Sean was known to drink heavily and use drugs, mostly marijuana and cocaine, but on some occasions he would use heroin, though these were rare and eventually stoppe after his brother Neil found him high on heroin and beat him severaly for it. By 2007, Sean was still living off the money he regularly earned from his gambling.
Events of The Ballad of Sean Killian[]
In 2007, O'Leary is introduced, along with the rest of the O'Leary family at the funeral of their cousin, Quinn . Sean is present for most of the cutscenes with the O'Leary family and will often chime into conversations when he feels like it. Sean helps protagonist, Sean Killian take down the Russian mob due to the fact that they killed Quinn, who had also been a friend of Killian's from Ireland. Sean helps in several smaller scale heists to weaken the Russians and also helps Sean discover various gambling rackets that Killian can take down. Through the game, like the rest of the O'Leary siblings, Sean becomes a good friend of Killian's through various activities that they partake in in "hangout sessions" where they bond over an activity such as drinking, pool, cards, smoking, walking, or sitting. By the end of the game, Sean announces that he had found a girlfriend for him and sets out on a date in the final scene, leaving Sean Killian and the rest of the O'Leary family at the house. It is presumed he remained in Queen City afterward.
Personality[]
Sean was originally like the other O'Leary Brothers (other than Frank), violent, rage fueled, and a criminal, he would steal anything from tv sets to VCRs. When he was 15 he discovered card games, run by his dad and began playing, it was soon discovered that he was a master card player and into his adult years he became known as a very good gambler. Overall by 2007, Sean is still a angry, violent man but has a soft spot for things such as heart broken people, crying children, and stray dogs and cats. It is hinted through several odd cutscenes that he is secretly a homosexual and can be freequently be seen ushering men out the window in the background of cutscenes while characters aren't looking.
