Russell is an aquamarine (not the jewel) sea otter from Happy Tree Friends. Along with his comrades, like Lumpy and Giggles, he was killed numerous times already on the show yet always came back to life thanks to Death granting him chances after chances. He was also a cop working in the HTFPD for sometime, being one of its youngest members. He is currently the owner of his own fast food in Canada, dealing mostly with seafood and gold on the side.

Quitting his boring job as a police officer of HTFPD, Russell became owner of an unnamed seafood restaurant in Alberta, Canada, where he sells all of the shebang he catches from the deep seas out of town and makes a good price for it. There is no cheap food in this fast food place. Business has so far been quite profitable and Russell decided to set up a racket in his basement, running gold from the Ring of Fire belt to local businessmen and those who he saw as wealthy costumers. As of 2017, Russell hired the Ontario Kings' leader, Raymond Voclain to watch over his rackets along with some of his gang members for the piece of the gold.

- Apparently, the real reason Russell walks on peg-legs is not because he's a so-called pirate, but because he had an accident which involved a motorbike when he was 15.
- Russell suffers from hysteria.
- Russell is blind in the right eye as he accidentally hurt himself with a fishing rod.
- He sounds similar to the Swedish Chef from The Muppet Show.
