Roscol Duffly is a minor character and a bounty target featured in Red Dead Redemption part I, American West, part IV, Undead Nightmare and yet another minor but mini-boss character in Red Dead Revolver 3dn edition.

Roscol is wanted for property destruction and can be captured or killed depending on the player's choice. According to Edgar Rose's Journal, Duffly used to work for Aiden O'Leary before Wade Basset took over the organisation and Duffly became something of a dynamite and torch expert.

Interactions[]

Revolver[]

Roscol is a mini/sub-boss in the level "Silver's Night Town". He appears after the player depletes half of Mickey Conway's health. A cutscene will trigger, showing Duff Buff stepping out of the Sheriff's Office with a torch. After yellingly asking: "Who is up for some barbecue, you yellas?!", he lights the building on fire and charges at the player. When in battle, he mainly fires at Leg Johnson using a Cattleman Revolver or a Double-action Revolver. If Leg gets too damn close, however, he uses his torch to set Leg ablaze. Roscol is not immune at all to effects of fire, so all attempts of rushing at him while on fire in an attempt to spread the flames, will work like a charm and his butt will burn to death in no time. Unlike Conway, who will avoid Leg and mainly attack Luisa, Roscol actively hunts down Leg, searching for him carefully and shooting at him or using the torch attack whenever he spots him, depending on distance. He moves slowly, but if the player rushes him, he will get a boost of speed and run away to cover. On another note, should his torch die out, Roscol will use some TNT and throw them at Leg, blowing him up if Leg's not careful.

American West[]

Roscol can only be found at the mines in Gaptooth Reach or Breach. However, unless Marston is wearing the Basset's Miners Outfit, he will be hostile. If the player is wearing said outfit, Roscol will act friendlier and smoke around the mine's entrance or the tents entering the Breach.

Undead Nightmare[]

In Undead Nightmare, Roscol can be found defending Gaptooth Breach, where he is inside the mine. If Gaptooth is saved and Roscol survives, he will move to the shaft tower along with Harlan Forbers.

An unexplained fire killed Aiden O'Leary and Basset steps in.

Duffly is one of two performers to survive the change in management. Wade finds him very useful for persuading folks to buy potions, poison and to work hard in mines.

Yeah, really, one of the most amazing practitioners of torch-using, fire-burning can be seen working for the big bad Basset in Gaptooth Breach. Mr. Roscol Duffly threatens the lives of slaves, young and old with his mastery of blazing infernos. When asked by a slave victim to be set free, Duffly stuck some dynamite in their mouths and let their heads explode.

Trivia[]

When defeated, Leg Johnson will complain: "What a disgusting burn."
Roscol may be related to Lloyd Duffly, a resident of Crystal Camp, however Lloyd claims to have no friends or family. Though this does not automatically disqualify the relationship, as Lloyd might be embarrassed to admit that he's related to a criminal.
In order to unlock Roscol's page in Edgar Rose's Journal, one has to buy the lighter.
His journal page shows a picture of Wade Basset standing right besides Duffly.
He appears to share very similar quotes and taunts to Guy Percival. However, this isn't Gait being lazy or something, rather, the two are very close buds and like to say one and the same things, hehe.
