Red's Grass is a location featured in Red Dead Revolver 3dn edition, and Red Dead Redemption (Undead Nightmare part) in the Rio Bravo, bordering on Gaptooth Ride region of the Texas territory.
The place is named like that in the honour of Red Harlow.
Info[]
Revolver[]
Red's Grass is the location of the mission "The Hunt For Guard Dig", in which Jack Marston must do just that (hunt down Dig), and frees Leg Johnson along the way, who was captured and put in a cage at the barn. Jack is then attacked by Basset's Miners, including Harlan Forbers and fights them, saving Leg in the process. After taking care of the stinky goons, Stanley Guard Dig himself arrives on the scene and attacks Jacky and Leggy. However, like with his men, Dig is killed by Jack and his corpse is taken away for his bounty reward in Gold Town.
Red's Grass has a barn, a broken-down house in the centre made of bricks, a basement level and a lot of, as its name would say, a lot of red-looking grassfields. It also has a fence running around it.
Buying the uniform from E.H. Katscmar's tailor shop will unlock the place as a selectable stage in the Showdown Mode.
Redemption[]
Here, Red's Grass serves as the location for a gang mission where Irish's Gang has taken a safe from the Silver Town bank and are berated as a result by Sonny Higbee. Hugh Leathers has been on their tail for a while and plans on getting the safe back. The Irish's Gang Outfit scrap (in style of a top hat) is located in the near basement of the destroyed house.
UN[]
During the Undead Nightmare, Jack Marston meets with Nigel W. Dickens in this location to talk about getting the US army uniform and escaping into Mexico where things apparently much calmer.
Trivia[]
- There is a basement cellar that can be entered from the south end of the destroyed house and seems to be connected to them somehow. Inside the cellar are the Irishmen tophat and a chest full of cash.
- This is the only hideout dat was controlled by Irish's Gang that wasn't in Indian Hills. However, in Red Dead Revolver 3dn edition, this place is under Basset's Miners control.
- Next to the abandoned house is an unmarked grave with a wooden cross. It may be that the previous owner of this locale is buried there.
- During the nighttime, the place is tightly patrolled from the sides by Irishmen.
- There is a bunch of whiskey, gin, rum and tequila bottles stashed in the broken-down house. Some have already been drank up, while the others are still full or half-full at least.
- It is rumoured that this place was originally a farm once, but then some gang attacked it and burnt it to the ground because the owners refused to move out. When news reached Mississippi, Red Harlow came to the place and killed the gang and the place was then named after him and the grass on the floor in his honour.
- This location is absent and not even named on the map in Rootin' Tootin', Cowboy Shootin'.
