Purple Guy is a mysterious figure from the indie-horror Five Nights at Freddy's series. He is a mentioned character in Five Nights at Freddy's, the overarching antagonist of Five Nights at Freddy's 2 and the main antagonist of Five Nights at Freddy's 3.
He is a serial killer who targets children.
Story[]
One day, Purple Man would drive up to Fredbear’s Family Diner and murdered a crying child outside of the building before fleeing. The crying boy's soul would possess The Puppet soon after.
On the night of June 26th, the Purple Man would sneak into Freddy Fazbear's Pizza and wore the Spring Bonnie suit to lure away five children into the saferoom of the restaurant. He was caught on camera however and was arrested. He was let go due to a lack of evidence. The Puppet would return and stuff the children's corpses into the animatronics, those animatronics being Freddy Fazbear, Bonnie the Bunny, Chica the Chicken, Foxy the Pirate Fox and Fredbear (Golden Freddy). This would gave life to the children's souls and allowed them to possess the animatronics.
The bodies of The Missing Children were never found and after some complaints about the smell of the animatronics, the restaurant is closed due to health violations and the company is sold off to unknown buyers.
In November of 1987, a new Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza restaurant opens. This time featuring brand new Toy Animatronics that have facial recognition built into them to detect predators from a criminal database (as to prevent any more children going missing). The old animatronics from the previous pizzeria have been scrapped and thrown into the back. Purple Man takes a job as a security guard and spends a night in the restaurant but notices the animatronics moving. He complains to the managers and is given the dayshift. He uses this opportunity and equips the old Spring Bonnie suit to murder five more children. Freddy Fazbear assisted by The Puppet attempt to stop Purple Guy and save the children, but it is too late as Purple Guy had already murdered them.
After his second murder spree, Purple Man would leave without a trace.
In December of 1993, Purple Guy sneaks into the abandoned building of the last remaining Freddy Fazbear's Pizza and destroys the animatronics, this releases the souls of the children however and they begin chasing him. As a last ditch effort to escape, he equips the Spring Bonnie suit, but is crushed to death when he accidentally triggered the springlocks. His organs are ripped apart and his body gets shredded. His soul possesses the animatronic but is trapped in the room as management seals the room off. Purple Guy would rot in the room for 30 years. Sometime along the way, Purple Guy takes on the identity of Springtrap.
In 2023, Fazbear Entertainment prepare for the opening of Fazbear's Fright: The Horror Attraction by scavenging the ruins of old Fazbear establishments. They find Springtrap and put him in Fazbear's Fright.
Having been unleashed after 30 years of being alone, Springtrap obsesses over the security guard. After six nights of pursuit, Springtrap is finally put to an end when the attraction is set on fire. Purple Guy's spirit is burned as well and dies.
