Plata Grande (or Great Silver) is a location featured in Red Dead Revolver 3dn edition and Red Dead Redemption part II, Mexican Revolution in the Punta Orgullo region of the Nuevo Paraíso territory. It is a large gold mine in the side of a mountain south of Tesoro Azul.

Info[]

Revolver[]

The Plata Grande was started when John Marston and his partner Bill Williamson discovered gold while prospecting in Punta Orgullo. Due to being double-crossed by his partner, John and his family didn't have a chance to reap the gold from the mine, which instead fuelled the corrupt regime of Nate Johnson and his partner Colonel Allende.

Since the mine was hold by the balls by the sacred Shadow Wolf's Tribe, their enemies the Indian Gang were provided guns and gold to keep the Shadow Wolves from interfering. Gold from the mine flowed North to Texas and to West Virginia via Allende's Train and his railroad. The entrance to the mine is heavily protected by Mexican Army.

The mine is referenced from the beginning of the game, where John tells his family about the discovery of gold. The player first enters the mine in the mission "Jail Escape" and makes their way back out during the subsequent mission "The Mine".

Mexican Revolution[]

Plata Grande plays no story at all in Red Dead Redemption unlike in Revolver.

Like in Revolver, it is a large mine near Tesoro Azul on the border of the map. It is one of the locations where a bounty target can be found hiding.

Layout[]

The mine includes several jail cells for Allende's prisoners and any miners or soldiers who displease him. The central area of the mine includes a supply room and lounge area.

It has one mine tunnel that has two exits. The mine also has a side tunnel that comes to a dead end but contains two chests with money inside.

Known owners[]

Trivia[]

  • The mine is very similar to Texas's Gaptooth Breach mine.
  • The truth; "The root of all evil, we thank you!" can be found scrawled on the wall inside the mine tunnel.
  • In the first original game of Red Dead Revolver, the mine where the two central characters found gold was actually in The Diablo Mine also located in Mexico.
