Michael Costa was a capo in the Cuneo Family. He had a small but surprisingly powerful army of bodyguards.

The "safety-valve" caporegime for Cuneos, Michael was the head of the family smuggling racket out of the railyards in New Town, smuggling arms to use against the Corleones during The Five Families Mob War.
In order to halt his schemes, Rocco Lamp ordered Charlie Trapani to kill Costa in a hit-and-run at his hangout at the train yards. Costa was run over by Trapani along with some of his guards.

- In early years of 2010 Corleones said that Costa is Stracci, but it is soon found out that Costa is actually a Cuneo, it is not known why Corleones thought he was a Stracci.
- Furthermore it is unknown why is Costa is even protected by the Stracci Family when doing his hit mission, but there is speculation that he is defended by Straccis because the Cuneos and Straccis made an alliance due to Elvis Smoth's evil hypnotizing bribery.
- Costa suffered from insectophobia.
