Manuel “Manny” Valdez (born May 13, 1998) is Perry Johnston’s best friend at Demigod School. He is a Mexican-American mechanic from San Antonio, Texas. He is the son of the Greek god Hephaestus. He also has dark eyes and black hair. He really likes cars and motorcycles. His other friends include Anna Williams (daughter of Athena), Elizabeth Shapiro (daughter of Aphrodite), and Logan Stoll (son of Ares). Avery Castellan (son of Hermes) was their friend as well until he betrayed them. Similarly to how Anna Williams is the love interest of Perry, Elizabeth is the love interest of Manny. According to the Perry Johnston Universe, Manny is half brothers with the infamous mechanic, Henry Ford.
