Leviticus Cornwall is a major villain character featured in Rootin' Tootin', Cowboy Shootin'. He is a wealthy sugar and plantation owner plus the CEO of the Cornwall & Tarr company (or Cornwall Kerosene & Tarr comp.).

Info[]

Leviticus Bernard James Cornwall is a wealthy old man who owns many of the businesses that Dutch's Gang have their sights set on. His wealth can be compared to that of the villains from the sequel and prequel series, like Thomas Harlow, Mayor Griffon and Nate Johnson. He apparently owns a mansion in St. Penis. He is also the financial backer for the Pinkerton Detective Agency, thusly he might have been allied at some point to Gicov Bell and Leopold Strauss.

At some point, he gave Colonel Harry Favours of the American Army the orders to drive the Wapiti indians (Native Americans) off the reservations, which are allegedly oil-rich and Leviticus, being the greedy pig that he was, wanted the oil lands for himself. Cornwall was able to hold the state by her balls and even held Grover Cleveland by his fat and sweaty bowls and was given a vast amount of state bonds. Despite this, the Govt. didn't want to conflict with the Natives but Leviticus would take matters into his own hands, not giving a dam what Grover or anyone else said. It was just about that money to the Corny Capitalist.

Leviticus also built up connections with the ruler aka dictator of Guarma, Alberto Sausage. Due to the sugar plantations on the island, Cornwall had close business ties with the wiener, and even reported him as a "great friend to America and a very, very, very moral slave owner who treats his slaves with utmost respect and gives them 8 meals a day!". The US federal govt. ate this up.

At some point prior to 1886, he helped fund a Freemason lodge in the Heartlands, but whether he was a part of the secret society or not remains a mystery.

Interactions[]

Leviticus is first mentioned by Dutch's Gang in the game after they attack an O'Driscoll camp near Colter's. The gang discovers information about a Cornwall train that the O'Driscolls intended to rob and decide to do it in their stead from a dead O'Driscoll. The gang decides to rob the train soon afterwards and they seize a significant amount of money in bonds and killed all of the passengers on it. Leviticus catches wind of this and begins funding the Pinkerton Detective Agency, ordering them to bring Dutch van der Linde's head to him on a golden platter so he can feed it to his pet crocs.

A while later in the game, Corny wall manages to track down the gang in Valentine. In retaliation for robbing him, he has his private army hold John Marston and Leopold Strauss as hostages. He then demands that Dutch and Arthur Morgan come out of the saloon and cut a deal before his men are killed. Douche shows up with Morgan but Cornwall cowers and rides off immediately afterward, telling his bodyguards to deal with the situation. During the situation and depending on the timeline, Strauss is shot in the leg by one of Cornwall's men (in most timelines it does happen). Whether Cornwall knew that Strauss was on the Pinkerton payroll during this is unknown, but he probably didn't.

During Ichabod Crane's private party, Cornwall angrily telephones his servants to demand that the mayor signs him some papers. Crane's butler and as whipper, Pierre, informs Crane about the call during the party. Dutch overhears this conversation and asks Arthur to follow the servant to Mayor's office. Pierre heads to the office and locks a drawer which contains the ledger and documents that Cornwall wants the Mayor to sign. After Pierre leaves, Arthur sneaks into the office and steals the documents after breaking off the drawer. Leviticus never finds out that his files were stolen by Arthur.

Insisting it's just for a "social call", Dutch, Gicov Bell and Arthur decide to confront Cornwall personally in Annesburg where Corny Wall is just getting off his sailboat. Lev has a brief meeting with the Pinkerton agents Larry Milton and Edgar Rose, and he scolds them for their lack of progress, claiming that Douche's wild boys are still out there, causing him problems, and he also threatens to pull off his funding should the two continue to fail. Larry teleports away and Rose leaves on a carpet, before Cornwall begins berating an union leader about the miners wanting a wage strike.

Dutch then suddenly steps to the docks from an orange smoke and demands $10,000, Cornwall's boat, and safe passage in return for sparing his life. Cornwall laughs, as does his secretary and the unionists and Dutch shoots him. Cornwall promptly falls into the water, initiating a large shootout with Cornwall's bodyguards and the workers against Arthur and Dutch while Gicov escapes the scene to join Rose and Milton in the bar.

Despite this, Cornwall was revealed to have survived Douche's assault and donned a US Army uniform, pretending to be a Captain or the Colonel in the army and the soldiers believed him, being under his control now. He also bought himself a wig and changed his facial hair.

After a number of skirmishes between the Wapiti tribesmen and the US Army, Leviticus agrees to meet with Rains Fall to discuss peace terms, although it was only an attempt to make them bow down to him and sell him their reservations over in peace. However, the peace talk is unsuccessful as Corned Wall is unwilling to compromise and uses racist remarks to insult the chief, even saying that his spirit animal is a fly because Rains Fall keeps flying over Cornwall's sith. After Rains Fall leaves, all insulted, Cornwall attempts to have Captain Monroe arrested and charged with treason due to Monroe making out with a Native girl, being rightfully suspected of taking part in the theft of an army cookie shipment, and ultimately hampering Cornwall and the army's efforts to starve those Native bastards to death. A gunfight unfolds shortly afterwards when Charles Smiff and Arthur each take a soldier hostage and demand Monroe's release, during which Rains manages to escape. Cornwall says he'll do no such thing and orders the soldiers to attack the pair while he rides off on horseback back to his mansion.

Later on, Cornwall commands the defence of Cornwall Kerosene & Tarr factory in a battle against the Wapiti Natives and the van der Lindes. As Arthur and Dutch exit the warehouse after stealing some state bonds, Cornwall takes matters into his own hands and runs into the building with a golden-plated gun and a bunch of dynamite under his suit. When Eagle Flies saves Arthur from being killed by the American army, Cornwall himself makes the scene and mortally wounds Eagle Flies with a shot to the abdomen, before he is himself shot and killed by Arthur with a shot to the head.

Despite being killed, Crownall is ultimately successful in his goals plus in driving the Wapitis off their reservation. After the battle, the Indians knew that the army and Cornwall's hired assassins would come for them and they were forced to move as a result, eventually going into exile in Canada. Even though he was killed, Cornwall succeeded in all of his goals, as even Dutch's gang would fall apart about a week after his death, when Gicov and Strauss were revealed to be the traitors who worked on Milton's payroll.

Personality and traits[]

"Folk feel!?? FOLK FEEL???! Business don't give two figs about feelings, sir! TWO FIGS! It's nonsense that'll bring the Black Plague down on both of our houses! Facts DON'T care about your miners' stupid feelings! It's about the money!"
— Cornwall shows off his Darwinistic and greedy views

Leviticus is shown to be an arrogant, hateful, spiteful, megalomaniacal, irritable and very self-absorbed man. He is greedy, merciless and ruthless, a true example of a capitalist and uses his resources to inflict pain on others in order to extend his control over various businesses, companies, factories and resources. He loves to inflict extreme pain on the Wapiti natives and the Annesburg miners and workers for resisting his wealthy powers and would destroy them all just to have his way. He is also incredibly vindictive and hateful towards Douche's boys for consistently robbing and attacking his businesses and his train. During a personal confrontation with Cornwall, Dutch van der Linde claims that while he is selective of who he kills and robs, which is usually the rich, racist, homophobic and powerful, sometimes poor, Cornwall is indiscriminate and therefore far more destructive. He also claims that he cares about the people and their struggles, while Leviticus is only about money. This is exemplified in a conversation with Annesburg union representative, in which Cornwall expresses disregard for the safety of his employees in favour of making money. It is possible Lev would be in the libertarian far-right section of the political compass.

Cornwall has also shown himself to be an unscrupulous and sadistic businessman who will use any means to achieve his goals, emulating a rather Darwinistic philosophy and traits of a Dixmor or the "robber barons" of the 19th century, of which Leviticus was a part of. Several collectable items indicate that Cornwall probably had committed several unethical schemes and even crimes himself, such as sponsoring the American Army to drive the Wapiti Natives off of their reservation in order to drill their entire land for oil. He also illegally owns an American army general uniform he stole from a dead guy and uses it to fool everyone into thinking he's a high-ranked commander in the army. At the end of the day, Leviticus ain't no better than the gang that keeps robbing him, but the game wouldn't want you to believe that.

In Newspapers[]

"Despite the recent murder of her owner, the Cornwall & Tar continues to operate and crush Native American bowls. After the Wapitis had fled to Canada, drilling began on the reservation's land by orders of Cornwall's cousin who now controls the firm. The amount of oil discovered turned out to be large af and drilling was quickly fastened up due to the amount of profit. Ultimately, Cornwall's campaign to drive the Wapitis from their lands was successful despite his death, as even now his cousin is swimming in money."

Trivia[]

  • Cornwall is a composite and interesting character based on real life robber barons like Andrew Carnegie, Leland Stanford, Johnny D. Rockefeller, JP Morgan and others in terms of power, reputation, and appearance. Today, he would be compared to the likes of Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, Billy Gates and David Rockefeller Jr. On this Wiki, he is comparable to Thomas Harlow, another railroad industrialist and a Native hater, the Dixmor Dynasty, especially the scientist Jacques Dixmor and Victor Cornet who owns a bunch of oil as well.
  • While on the isles of Guarma, Arthur Morgan uses Cornwall's last name as an alias but none of Sausage's men believe his BS.
  • The emblem pictured on Cornwall's bedroom portrait of himself reads "Pecuniæ Obediunt Omnia", which is Latin for "Money answers all things". Pretty fitting for Corny Wall.
  • While he is a Corned Wall, that rich douche Stonewall Ellington is a Stoned Wall. What is it with rich folk and Wally names?
  • His US Army uniform is actually a general's uniform, but he calls himself Captain and Colonel n' sith. It is possible Lev doesn't know the rank of his uniform.
  • In a conversation with Morgan Organ, Cap'n Monroe says that there is a culture of scorn for the Indians within Cornwall's philosophy which is evident from the fact that he doesn't want to share his special-styled, dollar-shaped cookies with them and also uses feathers of Indian chief's headdresses as his "fetish tool" to tickle his wife. He also apparently has a Native butler which he abuses by kicking him in the butt and then forcing him to suck him off. If the Native butler bites him by mistake, aka pisstake, Cornwall takes out a hammer to smash his teeth and the butler is only able to eat through a straw and suck Cornwall's cum through a straw.
