A Lawyer is the advisor to the Don in the Mafia, and can sometimes be his accountant, or a former hitman. Lawyer try to be legitimate so that they can "prove" the family legitimate as well, and are rarely involved in hits, robberies, or any physical activities that the Mob carries out although there are exceptions. A Lawyer can become boss, first-in-line, while another person who can gain the position is Underboss or Capo.
George Sheffield from Scarface: The World is Yours was a lawyer for Tone Montana and then Alejandro Sausage after his betrayal.
Lawyers don't always have to be a part of the mafia and can just be regular attorneys. Sometimes they can be ex or future politicians and not all of them have to deal deal with crime stuff. Sometimes they can also be a good friend of the judge or the DA and might use their connections there to help out their client.
