In Duro's underwater system |
Beneath some stinking village, plagued by the diseases brought by Nightmare, existed a cult that worshipped the Elder God of war named Ares. Their temple, shrine really, long used for secret activities and experiments including sorcery throughout history, is now nothing more than a crumbled ruin, resembling the Edenian Ruins or the now-ruined Fort Mercer. The grand priest sorcerer and king of the place, Greg Kunpaet-Tutatutatu, while foolishly attempting to obtain the power of an Elder God like Alcadan did, decided to created his latest creation to appease the Gods: Astaroth. Astaroth, however, was presumably awoken too early, his brain not being developed yet completely, causing him to destroy the temple and kill his own creator plus some of his cult members. The reddish creation then decided to become its own master; refusing to serve the God of war or anyone else. As said before, thanks to Astaroth's subhuman and almost useless mind, he was always filled with anger and disdain for anyone and everything in general. Using the ruined Shrine as his home base, Astaroth plotted the conquering of Duro, whether to take it from Overlord Hecurzo or Nightmare, he will do everything in his power to have it.
What's left of this godforsaken Shrine today, however, is nothing more than a statue of some sea deity that barely stands up straight, some two fishy guardians of sort, two death traps and is nothing more than an armpit of a place for some bats. Speaking of armpits, the entire place smells like one. The floor here is also rather all wet and slippery.
