Kotal's Army was a weak militia of ruthless soldiers that serve Emperor Kotal Kahn only and his planet of Outworld ever since Shao Kahn's thwart in 1992. They were the successors of Kahn's Army until Shao returned to the throne thanks to Queen Almeida.
Overview[]
These Outworlders are soldiers serving Kotal Kahn who are natives to the planet of Outworld but all wear traditional Rodian armour and tribal painting, regardless of the rank due to honour Kotal's long, dead planet of Rodia. This decision was generally not approved by any of congressman nor senate due to the main population being Outworlders, claiming Outworld's armies should wear traditional Outworld armour even if the state is communist. Kotal had all those politicians who disagreed with him beheaded or imprisoned. Unlike with Kahn's Army, Kotal's soldiers were not known for their notorious fighting skills, sadism and ruthlessness. Kotal was even seen for the majority of his reign by most Outworlders as a weak and unnecessary leader unlike his brother Shao Kahn, who is a giant compared to him and is leading Outworld with pure brutality.
Kotal's army was one of a more pacifistic nature and they didn't seem to be planning on conquering any planets at all.
The army and Kotal made their appearances so far in Mortal Kombat X and Mortal Kombat 12, serving as supporting antagonists in X and minor protagonists in 12.
After Kotal and Kitana are imprisoned by Kahn's Army, most of his Army is either extincted or forced to join Shao's forces.
