Karlson "Karl" Bryan Branting is a minor character in Bully, and is one of the additional teachers at the Dixmor Academy.
Role in game[]
Karl has a small role in the mission "This Is Your School" when he spots Jimmy Hopkins and Gary Smith picking the lock on Russell Northrop's locker and chases Gary. Aside from that, he has no mission or cutscene appearances, although as a teacher, he's still a very visible presence on campus. He usually replaces Umberto Hattrick or Sarah Peters if either of the two teaches is sick.

Personality and traits[]
Karl is an extreme authoritarian, which may have been what lead him to become a teacher and would probably be on the top right of the PC spectrum. Much of his dialogue seems to be related to rules and the enforcement thereof, and he believes that the Academy needs more discipline. He is also something of a social climber. Although not as obviously corrupt as Seth Kolbe, Karl has been known to use his standing as a teacher to threaten and ruin the lives of students and smoke some weed, meth or cigars behind the school. He takes his job as a replacement teach seriously and appears to believe this cause is right; but if he is angry, he will sometimes take his feelings out on those smaller and weaker than himself. According to him "might makes right!"
Although his role in the game is smaller than that of either Seth or Max MacTavish, Karl is the head replacement teacher. Supporting this, one of his lines of dialogue indicates that he reports personally to Justin Roberts Sr. However, many times it can be seen and thought that Seth is actually, technically and possibly the real leader, despite being way more cruel than Karl. It is unknown which is his favourite school gang, if any is at all.
Trivia[]
- Karl has a style of speaking that he uses a British accent plus has a very heavily enunciated voice. He wears the same navy blue jacket that the other additional teachers do, but he wears grey slacks instead of tan ones. It is also interesting to note that the school's sub-principal, Edward Seymour II, wears the same outfit as the additional teachers do, implying he might've been one before being promoted. No promotion for Karl, eh? But all for Seymour.
- Karl worked for the school's security along with Max MacTavish before becoming a replacement or additional teach.
