John McReary (February 16, 1943-August 24, 1999) was the younger brother of Richard McReary and Peter McReary, and the uncle of Derrick McReary, Francis McReary, Gerald McReary, Patrick McReary, and Kate McReary. Much like his brothers Peter and Richard, he was born in Ireland, prior to moving to Queens, New York City. He was the original underboss of the McReary Family back in the 1960s-early 2000s, with Richard being the don and Peter being the lawyer. John McReary had also favoured Patrick and Kate, but never cared for Derrick, Francis, and Gerald. Derrick, Francis, and Gerald all never cared for him either. When Patrick and Kate were younger, he would take them fishing off of the docks. On August 24, 1999, he died in a gang war against the Fortunato Regime. Patrick and Kate were both very sad. Patrick decided to take his uncle’s place as the family’s underboss.
