- — Jesse before duelling Red
Jesse Lynch is a minor, villain character featured in Red Dead Revolver where he is a duelling opponent and serves as the Dead Gang's second-in-command.
Jesse is also mentioned in numerous other games and franchises, along with a bunch of other historic characters.
Info[]
Jesse Lynch is indeed a strange fella who survived hanging apparently, and a duel to the death with Red Harlow on the streets of Black Town. He also survived an attempt on his life by Jack Marston in Brimstone.
What is the most known about his background is the fact that he killed at least fifteen people during the McDonnell Massacre in Texas and Paul O'Grady caught him, having him hung the next day. However, Jesse survived the hanging and headed to Black Town, where he personally knew the Mayor, Mr. Black, and he continued in expanding his Dead Gang, reeking havoc upon the territory.
When Black's gang disbanded, Jesse joined up with Sid Winkler until his gang fell apart as well. Jesse is presumably still alive but not at large, it seems. Although some unsolved murder cases across America could be his doing. Well, either his or Mr. Nasty's.
Interactions[]
Jesse plays a role of a duelist in the mission "Ghost Town" and will challenge Red Harlow to a duel in the middle of Black Town where he will be defeated by him, along with Digs Fowler and Bandito. However, unlike Digs, Jesse and Bandito survived the ordeal.
Encountering Jacky Mersten[]
When Sidford Winkler's Gang ruled Brimstone, a bounty hunter by the name of Jack Marston arrived in it and was confronted by the entire gang, as the gang mistook him for Red Harlow. After killing Bedanc Spinney over a cards game in the saloon and then John Kelly, Jesse Lynch himself came out of the barber's and challenged Jack to a duel. Jesse tells him that he has waited an eternity to get back at him for defeating him in the duel in front of the Black Town cemetery. Jack is confused in the face as he doesn't recall any of that, but he quickly pulls out his gun and shoots Jesse in the stomach and chest before the Joker has a chance to kill him. Jesse falls down to the ground, facefirst and after a while, Sid himself steps into town and challenges Marston to a Battle Royale.
Jesse is then taken by the town's undertaker and put into the coffin, but when the undertaker got out to get himself a cup of coffee, Jesse rose up from the dead once again and fled the town, being alive and well.
Quotes[]

Journal Entry[]
Sheriff Paul O'Grady tried to hang Jesse Lynch a while back when he was caught killing at least 15 people during the McDonnell massacre near Hell's Creek. The next morning O'Grady assumed someone had stolen his body... Until he saw a pale man in Jesse's clothes and a noose around his neck robbing a stagecoach and taking off with it. That strange, pale man WAS in fact Mr. Lynch. O'Grady couldn't believe his eyes. Even though he was no sceptic of the supernatural, he felt the need to tell that Lynch was no ordinary man. The thief fled to Black Town, assuming no law enforcement would dare to pursue him. Unfortunately for us, he assumed right. They killed him here, they killed him there... Gone fishin'.
Today[]
It is assumed that Jesse is still alive and well today, being a secret, unidentified mass murderer in the southern states of US. According to a journalist's report on 3 November, '22 AH, a surviving murder victim reported that his attacker had long, black hair, a broken neck and a noose around it. Perhaps it was Jesse Lynch after all? Maybe it's a copycat killer. Also, this isn't the first known victim to have describe their attacker to look like Mr. Lynch.
It should also be noted that Jesse's physical appearance has changed quite a lot since the 1880's, as he now has a corpse-like face, a different coloured hat with no skulls and sports a waistcoat or longcoat which matches the colour of his hat. His old orange vest is also bullet-holed and seemed to have lost ist colour.
Perhaps he is also in cahoots with Mr. Nasty? Who knows? I also wonder what gang, if any, will Jesse join next.
Trivia[]
- Some of his obsession with fear is the same as Scarecrow's. In fact, Scarecrow based his criminal persona upon Jesse.
- His last name Lynch, is his actual last name. It appears to fit his undead ass well, sinse he wears a noose as a tie.
- Not counting Red Harlow, he has the largest killstreak in the entire Red Deed Revolver. Mr. Black comes in close second.
- However, that is only when talking about individual kills, as it is likely Javier Diego killed many more people, specifically rival soldiers during his tenure as General of the Mexican Army. The same could be said about other military-affiliated characters.
- Other than Scarecrow, Jesse also looks similar to the Joker and one of his nicknames is based upon him and his purple suit.
- His arsenal of weapons he gathered over the years was quite large, I'sppose.
- Jesse has the bounty reward of 800$, which is the highest bounty reward in Revolver and all three parts of Red Dead Garlic bread as well.
- He was vaccinated two times against COVID-19.
