Biography[]
Hans Gruber was born September 12, 1948 in Dresden, Germany. He was the leader of a very organized heist crew called Cicada. His alias was "the Mastermind." He recruited men from the Mafia, the Russian Mafia, Yakuza, Triad and even some of their African American, Jewish, Irish and Hispanic associates. He was a highly skilled heist planner who also had his own networks of smuggling drugs, guns, ivory trinkets, whale blubber, blood diamonds and artifacts. He was also involved in human smuggling, gambling and prostitution rackets. On December 25, 1988, Hans and his heist crew members were involved in a heist on the Nakatomi Plaza. He was even intelligent enough in order to put the entire building on lockdown so that he and his crew members could make a withdrawal and exit. The whole building was surrounded by the FBI. An NYPD officer named John McClane went in and did all kinds of dangerous stunts in order to get to Hans. Not to mention, his wife was in that building. Hans also had a lot of hostages. Once John finally reached Hans, Hans even had his gun pointed to the neck of John's wife. John shot Hans and he fell off the building to his death. He also had an older brother named Simon Gruber who was also a member of Cicada and vowed vengeance on John McClane in the third Die Hard movie from 1995. Make no mistake. Hans Gruber was one baller and intelligent antagonist whom you really don't want to mess with.
