Gilroy Messi is a minor, but useless character featured in Red Dead Redemption part I, the American West.

Info[]

Gilroy used to work as a railroad worker in Silver Town, later as a small-time lumberjack in Tall Trees, but at the end he became a petty thief and stole from people. He wears brown or blue overalls and usually a blue cap, reminiscence of his railroad and lumberjacking days. He has a deep southern accent despite being from Wisconsin. Gilroy mentions that he had the option to go to college, but chose not to; a decision he regrets. Now he spends his days robbing people and sometimes working odd jobs on the side, still.

Interactions[]

Gilroy can most often be found at the Pacific Union Camp or Desert Fort, doing various jobs. However, he can also be found being in jail at MacFarlane's Ranch as well as in Silver Town for petty or grand theft. He can sometimes also be found riding on a horse through various cities in the games for reason unknown, including St. Penni.

Death[]

Gilroy was killed during a mass shoot-out at Desert Fort in either 1892 or January, 1893. When he heard the shootings between Jack and a couple of lawmen, he ran out of his room at the fort and tried to get pass the gate to get out, however before he could even get to the porch, he was shoot in a head with Henry Reptile rifle by Jack Marston and died. Jack killed him just for the lolz, the reason why he was engaged with the Texas Sheriffs in the first place.

Trivia[]

  • Gilroy was known to steal from these here listed people: Dewey Greenwood, Edgar Hewitt, Orison Patt, Charlie Bagel, Errol Hewitt, Cody Wilton, and Mrs. Poppy.
  • Gilroy, despite being a criminal is seen walking around freely and doing stuff as he pleases in Desert Fort and even other towns or residences. Reasons are because he's not a real threat, just a little thief and his jailing expires quickly. However, how townsfolk perceive him because of this or see him is a different question all together.
  • He has nothing to do with the world-renowned and famous Argentinian footballer of the same last name.
