Flippy is a character from the Happy Tree Friends series and the main villain. He is a former veteran of the Outworld War, being the only animal to participate in it and this is an important character trait of his.
Info[]
Flippy was born in May, around 23 BH, to father a Grizzly and mother a Kodiak bear in the forests of Washington, probably North Cascades. His parents were not of Earth, they were from Seido, and came to Earth because the Seidan government wanted to make an experiment, conducting that they send the bears to Earth to see if they would fare well with Earth's bears. With the experiment succeeding, the family decided to stay there with Duke Tallen's allowance and Flippy lived quite well and humbly, since food was a bit hard to find there and hunters and poachers were lurking about. However, Flippy would eventually adapt to a military world and lifestyle, thanks to some counselling he got from some wooden dummy (which was actually Manny Wide) who he met in the Washington woods. When the war with the rival blue tigers broke out on Orderworld, Flips was eager to fight for his planet, well his parents' planet and got inspired by Lucas Borlinghathen and Richard Milhouse's speeches. He fought in land warfare with fellow animals of his planet, like Mickey Bloom, against the blue tigers who wanted to usurp Tallen's rule. Ever since then he has an obsession with making booby traps. As he fought for years against those rebel bastards and top men of Darrius even, he was promoted to the rank of a Sergeant, being the first animal in the Seidan military (not to be confused with the Seidan Guardsmen) with such a rank.
However, Flippy's time in the military revealed to have a strong effect on him. Specifically mentally. During Operation: Ka-Boom, Flippy sees the death of his two closest friends firsthand at the hands of the tiger army and it effects him, before he himself is captured by them and put in a cage. Getting stabbed by Seidan katanas and naginatas, Flippy finally "flips out", breaks his cage and slaughters all of the tiger soldiers. He then took his time to get back to his camp, unseen, where his remaining fellow squadsmen were and took some explosives. Despite the protests set forth by his commander, Flippy just gave him a "cold stare" and the commander obliged to his wishes. Flippy then sets the explosives in front of the Tiger general's bunker and knocked on the door. When his men opened the door, Flips set the bombs off and it blew the entire place up, including the general. Flippy got awarded the rank of a Sergeant for that, but at what cost? Today he has a severe case of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and is suffering from it. Whenever he sees or hears something that reminds him of war or feeling the fire of war (e.g., gunshot-like sounds, can-busting sound, knife-cutting sound or stares into the light for too long), he becomes delusional and extremely aggressive, often killing everyone in sight, as he perceives everyone as tiger's army from Seido. According to Dr. Leland, he also has dissociative identity disorder, personality disorders, suffers from narcissism, is possibly a sociopath, and has mild symptoms of paranoid schizophrenia as a result of his experience in the brutal war, judging from him basically becoming someone else, basically becoming fuaking Ted Bundy, Leo Kasper or Mr. Nasty, as he just starts killing everyone in sight. He also might "flip out" due to anger or stress, but as odd as it may sound, it is possible that Flippy can talk to his alternate personality people refer to as "Fliqpy" (even his doctor). In some instances when he flips out, his "normal" side can be seen talking to himself to calm down and whatnot, while his "evil" side just laughs at himself and mocks himself, which is very similar to the case of Leo Kasper and Daniel Lamb. While flipped-out, several physical features about him change: His eyes turn to lime, yellow or light brown-greenish instead of black, his voice changes from high and cute to deep and evil, and his teeth become razor sharp. Oh, he also gets dark circles under his eyes.
