The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), formerly the Bureau of Investigation (BOI), is the domestic intelligence and security service of the United States, and its principal federal law enforcement agency. Operating under the jurisdiction of the U.S. Department of Justice, the FBI is also a member of the U.S. Intelligence Community and reports to both the Attorney General and the Director of National Intelligence. A leading U.S. counter-terrorism, counterintelligence, and criminal investigative organisation, the FBI has jurisdiction over violations of more than 200 categories of federal crimes.
Although many of the FBI's functions are unique, its activities in support of national security are comparable to those of the British MI5 and the Russian FSB. Unlike the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), which has no law enforcement authority and is focused on intelligence collection overseas, the FBI is primarily a domestic agency, maintaining 56 field offices in major cities throughout the United States, and more than 400 resident agencies in lesser cities and areas across the nation. At an FBI field office, a senior-level FBI officer concurrently serves as the representative of the Director of National Intelligence.
The January-starting US Prezi, Frank Kenson and his Republican party said that one of their main goals will be disbandment and dismantlement of the FBI and in place of it the Kenson Agency will be made.

Since the federal government is responsible for governing the nation as a whole, FBI is a very powerful force in Red Dead Redemption (mainly part III, The New Life). The federal government (including at the time BOI) is the second highest authority in the nation, behind only the Puppet Masters, the Jewish-owned American Banks and in later years, Dixmor Project.
The Godfather[]
In France (more specifically, France City), the FBI was frequently involved in searching for activity of American criminals and mafia sympathisers (usually Italian) who caused trouble in France. It was not until the 2012 that they would start prosecuting mafia leaders and shooting them down.
The Corleone Family managed to remain safe from their investigations after discovering photographs involving the director and his male assistant doing some kinky sith. FBI agents were often bribed to end mob conflicts as they could turn the heat on other families, including the Corleones when the director was replaced.

- Many people, most notably US' own citizens, can sometimes be heard grumbling about the bodies such as the FBI, and its actions towards the populace. Even the future President/dictator, Frank Kenson, is not an exception to this and he plans on making something about it.
