Ernesto Caprione was an Italian-American mobster who was an antagonist in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. He was played by Robert De Niro, even though he looks like Putin on the picture.
Biography[]
Ernesto Caprione was born on November 7, 1900/100 BH to a family of blue collar Sicilian immigrants. His father was a construction worker while his mother repaired kitchen dishes, like pans and pots. In 1914, when he was only fourteen years old, he became an enforcer for Joe Massiera, a local crime boss. When Lucky Luciano, Bugsy Siegel, Meyer Lansky, and Frank Costello (not the actor) joined the organisation as associates, he became good friends with them. Other friends of his included Walter Donovan, Joe Adonis, and Vito Genovese. When Lucky Luciano became boss after the assassination of Joe Massiera, Ernesto was promoted to a capo. In the mid 1930's, he paid an Austrian immigrant archaeologist and professor in NYC named Elsa Schneider a lot of money so that she could assist them in helping them find artefacts on the black market for money to which she agreed.
In 1938/62 BH, Ernesto, Walter, and Elsa were all assigned by Lucky Luciano to find the Holy Grail so that they could sell it on the black market in order to make a whole lot of money. Indiana Jones, Henry Jones Senior, Sallah, and Marcus Brody stood in their path several times along the way, as Jones intended to bring the Grail into the museum. After a lengthy battle with Indiana, Ernesto and Indy fell into a canyon and crashed into a gas tank. There was a huge explosion to which Indy survived and regrouped with his father and friends. Ernesto, on the other hand, didn’t survive and was blown and burnt to bits.
