Eric Walter Gryphon is a character and an agent of the Dixmor Project. One of his numerous jobs includes assassinating enemies of the said secret society, the Project. Gryphon has also worked from time to time with the Spys.

Gryphon was born on 16th of February, 1978, in Beaufort, South Carolina, US to an abusive father as implied by dialogue. He was then founded and recruited into the Dixmor Project organisation by its leader, Marko Dixmor personally and began to fight and kill enemies of the Project throughout his career with them. He received an intense amount of human hatred during his time in the organisation. At one point, he convinced Lucas Borlinghathen to plan a secret assassination on John Randy-Newman.
Sometime in the year 2016, Eric along with The Woodsman and Piero Magistro were deployed to Detroit to attack and destroy the research facility made by Travonni's Anti-Flag on human evolution and the advancements of human augmentations founded by the Project. The Spys accompanied Eric, Woodsman, and Piero as they ravaged the facility. Eric is later seen strangling a Travonni scientist and then kills another one by brutally gunning him down with his Mauser Pistol. He and the rest of the company escape the facility after the traitor Kinzie Kensington is kidnapped and Purple Diamond is supposedly shot dead by Piero.
Six months later, Purple Diamond comes back and he begins to hunt down the members of The Project. Eric was tasked with acquiring a microchip out of a member of Travonni's Anti-Flag but Diamond got to it quicker and acquired the chip. Walter and the Spys then decide to regroup and meet up at Highland Park where a Project camp has been built in secrecy. Diamond follows them there and finally faces the men who murdered Kinzie's team when Eric takes Purple and wrestles him across the room. Albert Jackson and Piero both leave while Gryphon fights Diamond alone. Walter fought bravely against Diamond, but Purple wins anyway and defeats Gryphon. Diamond then demands answers to where the rest of the Anti-Flags are when Gryphon takes out a grenade and escapes while it explodes effectively, killing Diamond who was not fast enough to escape.
Personality and traits[]
Gryphon is shown to be a sadistic individual, as he states: "Oh, that's going to be a real pleasure!" when ordered by Marko to get rid of Diamond. He is also quite the trash-talker, constantly calling Purple names such as 'cuck' during the battle, suggesting that he is a Republican. He is also very loyal to Marko and other Project Commanders, always doing whatever they command without question.
