The Edenian Rebels (also known as the 'Edenian Resistance', or Edenian Freedom Fighters) is an ancient and current military government within the majestic planet of Edenia which used to be led by their general and decorated member, Peppermint Pepey, a highly dedicated patriot of Edenia until his death on Duro at the hands of Daiko Mishima. It is unknown who leads the Edenian Rebels today, but it is assumed that it's Kitana. The main objective of the Edenian Resistance is to ensure the safety, freedom, justice and security of Edenia from the rival fascist faction known as the Edenian Knights.

Their typical duties are enforcing law and order, protecting the royal family of Edenia that is the Queen Sindel and her daughter Princess Kitana, and defending its citizens from local or foreign harm. Daily, they continue to guard the feudal monarchy that governs Edenia, preserving "order", "peace", and "democracy" (lmao) within their civilisation, and are "highly reliable" to protect the people from harm. They are known for combating many otherworldly invasions, which includes tyrants such as Shao Kahn and Shinnok. The Edenian Rebels are also known for securing peace treaties and relationships between the planets, including the already perfect and secure civilisation of Orderworld and the native races of Outworld, including the Centaurs and the Shokans. They are called the Edenian 'Rebels' since they fight for the left-wing political spectrum in Edenia whereas the Edenian Knights existed long before the Rebels and are the sole and original protectors so to speak of Edenia.
