Dwayne "Gigi Ese" Provenzano is a mentioned-only villain in The Godfather Game and a protagonist or mission-giver in the GTA 1 game.
He is the leader of the New York Jamaican Mob and a former pimp of Frankie Malone, Michael Corleone's adopted daughter.
Bio[]
Dwayne came to New York City sometime in the 1980's and founded the NY Jamaican Mob, who has been in the war with rival mobs, like the Fu Triads, for ages. His gang used to control all of the drug trade in the city, before Uncle Fu beat him for a few.
According to his police crime record, Dwayne is a cross-dresser and bisexual, basically a "batty boy", dressing up as "Sister Elisha" on Saturday nights at the local bars, brothels and strip clubs. He is currently being investigated for bombings, beheading executions, schwerzing immigrants over the border, various high (as in literally high from weed) jinks, anti-Kenson propaganda, fraud, jaywalking, protesting against the church, saying Isus Christus was a Rastafarian black man, talking about Pastafarianism and dealing narcotics.
In 1997, after Charlie Malkovich is blackmailed by the corrupt NYPD officer Dexter Leeds into doing his dirty work and taking down the Rastas (Dwayne's group), Gigi Ese offers him a lot of protection if he chooses to join him and take over the local drug market.
Malkovich accepted, so Dwayne ordered his men to go destroy a police cruiser containing drugs that Leeds stole for himself, but in doing so, it was revealed that Dex's wife was also killed in the explosion and Provenzano will claim that her life was a small price to pay. Brother Pete, as he is also called, eventually takes his revenge on Dexter by sending Malkovich and three of his Rastas to attack his house and farm in the southlands and kill Dex and his corrupt drug squad. Most of Gigi Ese's tasks for the hero, Malkovich in this case, are to help the members of the Mob get rid of the "minions of Babylon", as Babylon is seen as pure evil in the Rasta religion for oppressing the black man in general for centuries. During one of his jobs, Brother Dwayne informs Charlie that the "high priest of Babylon" has entered town for a radio show and must be dealt with. Malkovich and a member of Gigi's mob then have three minutes to get to the Queens where the priest's white Street Limousine is located, along with a swarm of bodyguards. It is also revealed that the "high priest" assassinated during this job was a local Baptist pastor, who wished to discuss his opinion, well anti-ganjan propaganda, on the talk show.
Sir Provenzano eventually discovers the Vice Squad plans to kill or rape his niece in order to get to him. He orders some of his men to quickly steals a taxi and take her to the airport to fly her over to Florida, where she'll be safe.
After the events of the game or these missions, Dwayne is off to France in Europe.
The Godfather Game[]
While he doesn't make a physical appearance, Dwayne is mentioned a few times in the strategy guide book and the hintbook that came with the game. It is said that he was once a pimp for Frankie Malone, before she met Michael Corleone or any of his men. He used to also pimp her out to some of his allies he had in France, like the local, small-time drug cliques or even the Stracci Family members. He would also frequently beat her and then force her into having sex with him, practically raping her. When the word of this got out about a year later, he fled back to New York and evaded any kind of justice. However, his hired goons participated in some smaller wars with the Corleones, but failed to kill any prominent members. This happened sometime in 2006 to 2007.

- He is allied to the Italian mob boss from the Bronx crime scene, Roberto Stergeli.
- It is unknown why Michael Corleone never sent any of his assassins after Dwayne when he fled back to NY. Maybe he really didn't care for Frankie that much or maybe he did, but Provenzano was able to fight all of them off and kill 'em.
- Judging from his surname, he could have some Italian ancestry. His nickname, "Gigi Ese" also translates to "Gigi Dude" in Spanish, but it is unknown exactly from how he got that nickname. Perhaps he has some Hispanic or Latino roots as well.
- Despite his rivalry with Uncle Fu's triads, they are never seen at each other's throats. It is possible they had a temporarily ceasefire and still do.
