"I've only heard of this planeten once. They say it ain't too far off from the Never Land."
Kung Lao back when he was still breathin' yuman air

Duro is large, pure sky red-looking planet located in the Multiverse Federation, with dictatorship being it's main factor of a political system. Once a garden world nourished by the blue Soul Calibur, its orbit and sky was shifted when the Soul Edge unleashed itself there from Hell and wasted off most of Calibur's energies. The resulting, deadly duel between the two giant swords devastated the planet, but Soul Edge managed to win when the alien known as Overlord Hecurzo got his bony hands on it, transforming the lush world into an imbalanced and volcanic wasteland, but not in all corners of the world. The Durians who lived there had no choice but to adapt to the new life on the planet while Hecurzo would rule it supreme, defeating the Elders who made the laws on the now-red planet. Many years later, the evil conqueror and new wielder of the Edge known Nightmare, searched the planet for immortality and ruleship over it, thanks to Edgy's hunger, seeking the same dictatorish leadership as Hecurzo. Nightmare would eventually succeed in his goals, become Night Terror and cast his rule over the planet after killing Hecurzo.

Salty Edge was acquired by Rafael Sorel when Night Terror lost it one rainy evening. Hell, I should add that the planet is also the home to The Birds of Passage, a wannabe ultra crime syndicate, whose headquarters are Alcadan's Shrine, a place that Night Terror wished to had back in the day. Let's not fuaking forget the planet wasn't always a one-way dictatorship. No, no, the Kingdom of Dalkia and the Delmut Empire used to have some reel beetles here. After the Sorel empire's victory over the other two, Rafael became some sorta real deal and threat to Overlord Hecurzo, but the two managed to make some peace along the way. Hecurzo had a secret facility on the planet where he intended to teach the Durian youth into following his example of leadership over the planet and planned on making a cult of personality. However, Rafael was jealous of this and had the base scuttled when Cervantes Delekatesa brought some alien kids there to learn in ways of Hecurzoism. The facility was then forced to be shut down, unknowingly to Hecurzo tho, who kept wondering what the Hell is taking those younglings so long to teach from his example.

Duro's Lakeside Coliseum served as the final battle of between Hecurzo's army and Nightmare, now known as Night Terror's forces, led by Tira, and Nighterror succeeded in slaughtering Hecurzo's army with the Soul Edge, effectively ending Hecurzo's reign of terror... forever. However, Nightmare would not rule the planet for long. Night Terror had no charisma nor the intellect to rule the planet, only brute force and threats or intimidation and this was something Rafael Sorel tried to exploit. However, much to Rafael's dismay, the Outworld's Attack on Duro happened just then and Sorel was forced to ally his empire to Night Terror.

However, Rafael begun to realise that hope was lost and that Kahn's Army greatly outnumbered theirs. To avoid a grisly fate, Rafo changed his allegiance to Shao Kahn.

While great portions of the planet were always in motion, one of the few constant features was the central volcanic features, man. Lava poured out of the spot at nearly 100,000 liters per millisecond and pooled into villages and towns all around, turning them into a molten wasteland. To the north was a region named the Burning Pants, which boasted heavy volcanic activity. Another region earned its nickname, the Smoking Forest, as smoke spewed from its threes.

The world's instability charged up magma-carrying ores with unique and valuable minerals, pylons to its surface, attracting business interests from various Hellish mining conglomerates and companies such as the Chernobog's Golden Age to exploit the mineral wealth of the otherwise depressed world under Amy Sorel's dictatorship, who acquired the planet after Rafael's death at the hands of Shao. The searing magma that bubbled beneath the surface flooded the planet every day, like in Hell, covering it in oceans of lava.

During Rafael Sorel's era, Hecurzo's temple was torn down and Sorel made himself a new castle in the city's capital. However, Shao's lusting for power would only be fuelled on by his darkest desires and he would one day kill Rafo and merge Duro into Outworld, expanding his planet.

Queen Almeida of Boolos did not agree to this, however, and she would remove Shao's leadership over the planet and separate the red ball from Outworld. Feeling sorry for her, Almeida would give the planet over to Rafael's daughter, Amy Sorel. Being spoiled as Hell by Rafael since her birth, she would prove to be a ruthless dictator of the planet and merciless even more so than Hecurzo, but not Night Terror.

The planet would later form an alliance with Lord Azazel and his deserty planet.

Things is, despite its hellish environment, Duro was teeming with wildlife, as it was the home to fragile but determined organisms all connected throughout the red blanet. In the solid rock betwixt and Nesquik lava flows, there lives a mammalian, reptilian specie known to be a hybrid between a Durian and a Saurian. How is that possible?

They are known to eat the planet's residents and steal them or their children from their houses during the night, practising secret rituals and cannibalism. It seems that they do not seem to mind the Sorel Empire. Other species found on the planet includes lizard-crows, which could be found in Duro's lava fields. These creatures were also often eaten as a delicacy by the aforementioned lizard-hybrids.

Conquering[]

Once he felt bored af and got into an argument with Amy, Lord Azazel conquered this entire red planet and merged it into Orinion. For resisting his might, Azazel had Amy killed and eaten, he was quite hungry.
