— Marinelli to Trapani

Donald "Donny" Marinelli was a Soldier in the Tattaglia Family and one of Virgil Sollozzo's goons.

Biography[]

Donny was born on the poorer side of area of Sicily to an Italian-American family. Marinelli was raised in an American section of the city and made several friends there, gaining underground connections. Marinelli was involved with the France Mafia when his family moved out to France in 6 BH, and became a small time thug while in his younger years there. He was acquainted with Mikey Soleri in the 2000's and became friendly with him, and he chose Soleri as his partner for the hit on Don Vito Corleone in December 2009 or 9 AH. Donny was beaten up badly by Charlie Trapani after putting five shots into Corleone's culo, but when hitman Norm Felichelli held Francesca Malone at gunpoint to distract Trapani, Donnie escaped while Norm was beaten.

Afterwards, Marinelli decided that he would be able to work against the Corleones through blackmail. After Mikey was killed, Donny blackmailed the Corleones, threatening to tell the public of their bribery of the FCPD officers. Sal Tessio found out that Marinelli frequented the Ambassador Nightclub from some of his connections with the bartenders there, and sanctioned the hit to destroy the Tattaglia's power-base.

Death[]

Trapani was sent to make his bones by killing Marinelli, according to Tessio's strategy to destroy the Tattaglias. He drove and parked his Ford in front of the Ambassador Bar and was let in by the doorman, who did not want any trouble with Charlie plus he actually liked the Corleones. Trapani pulled out a magnum and shot Donny in the back of the head, killing him, while Donny was watching a dancer on the stage.
