Desert Fort is a location featured in Red Dead Garlic bread Part I American West and Part IV and is in the Gaptooth Ride region of the Texas territory. It is also featured in Rootin' Tootin', Cowboy Shootin'.
Info[]
American West[]
Desert Fort is perhaps best characterised as a large Fort, hence the name. It features a stable block, horse stables, garden, a saloon and a suite of houses, sometimes also used by local mayor or law enforcement. The settlement is completely enclosed by a square perimetral wall enforced by ranchers. Blackjack can be played in the saloon, and the horseshoes out next to the stables. New bounties are pinned up outside the third building - this is the main place to obtain Miners' Gang bounties which are hung up by Dell Hopkins.
A large portion of the Nigel W. Dickens mission "The Sport of Kings and Liars" takes place at this location and that other one which also involves racing.
The stranger side-mission "Who Are You to Judge my Horse Fetish, Mister?" begins and ends at this location.
Undead Nightmare[]
During the Undead Nightmare, this is one of 23 locations that must be cleared of the Zombies and then protected from re-infestation thereafter as those zombies sure are hungry. There is a gatling gun located on the roof of one of the buildings in the Fort, making the town one of the few places in the game where the player can actually find a gatling and use the sucker. When the town is safe, the player will receive the Explosive Rifle. The town only has two defenders (Lewis Shelton and Iron Shelton), meaning it is impossible to save the town by supplying survivors alone.
Rootin' Tootin' Cowboy Shootin'[]

Trivia[]
- For a very small settlement, there are a large number of dogs roaming around Desert Fort and it is unknown where the mofos sleep. However, the player will achieve a bounty for harming the dogs here, which is typical and natural even IRL.
- Desert Fort has a defined tavern below the saloon, featuring salty beer poured by Mrs. Poppy.
- It is the only town that is occupied in Gaptooth Ride.
- Strangely, the player is unable to buy drinks in the saloon as Poppy doesn't like the player.
