David “Dave” Weiss (born October 21, 1964) was the original drummer for the American thrash metal band called Anthrax from the band’s foundation on July 18, 1981 to August 1982. He was replaced by Greg D’Angelo in September 1982. He was also previously in a rock band with Scott Ian, Paul Kahn, and a guy named Neil Stopol at Bayside High in Queens, New York City called Four X from 1980-1981. He is African-American and from Queens, New York City. He also was a childhood friend of Scott Ian as well as a Chinese-American woman about their age named Michaela, who was friendly with both Dave and Scott, but never in a band with either of them. Dave’s favourite bands and artists include Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Motörhead, AC/DC, Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, and Bob Marley. He also likes a lot of the same DC and Marvel superheroes as Scott.
