This hidden, underground and bloody dungeon called the Dark Prison was a stage that first appeared in Mortal Kombat Deception and it is located under Shang Tsung's Queen Anne's Revenge.
Overview[]
The Dark Prison is located deep below Shang Tsung's ship. The prisoners were not criminals however, but merely the next victims. The lucky ones had a quick death in the spiked human compactor for the amusement of Shang Tsung. Others pointlessly struggled for their lives out in the courtyard, serving as fodder for the skilled fighters during Mortal Kombat tournaments. The unlucky ones still died, but if Shang Tsung claimed the energy of their souls, they served him for all eternity.
When knocked to the lower level, the player can see prisoners in each of the 8 cells. The prisoners are unplayable characters, including various characters from the previous game Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance and every other non-playable Deception character that appear in Konquest.
The stage also had a Stage Fatality that was a spiked wall compressor that activated once the opponent was knocked into it. If an opponent was knocked against a cell door, the inmate would grab and hold them for a chance for a free hit or combo.
Prisoners[]
The prisoners in the eight cells of the Dark Prison are all characters that appear in Deceptions Konquest mode that are not playable themselves. Some of them are under Onaga's control. The line-up changes each time the stage is selected, and includes the following:
- Drahmin - He still seems to be after the precious
- Frost - She weak, no wonder she was captured so quickly
- Fujin - How the hell can a God be captured?
- Goro - How could he be captured? He looks so strong
- Hsu Hao - A weak sissy, no wonder
- Jax Briggs - Lol
- Johnny Cage - Too bad, he was a great douche
- Kai - Oh, he was a hobo anyway
- Kano - Idk how, lol
- Kintaro - Fake, he ain't even moving
- Kitana - Lol, a damsel in dimise
- Navado - Red Dragon's pride has fallen, I see
- Motaro - Fake! Not moving also
- Nitara - Well, she's enjoying it, she's a vampire
- Quan Chi - And I thought Shang and Chi were BFF's
- Rain - The Prince himself is now captured, interesting
- Reiko - Poor him
- Reptile - He isn't? Is he?
- Sereena - She deserves it! No one messes with the Brotherhood of Shadow
- Sektor - Poor robot
- Cyrax - Another machine?
- Shao Kahn - Tsung even captured the emperor himself? Man, that's something
