- "My soldiers, my legions, my tools! Spread out the good news, find my children and gather them all! We will conquer all, drain out all the evil souls! We share one desire! A wicked one, as you may know! Our Lord is the Angel, he is madness! He is the word, he is the law!"
- — Hansi Kursch addressing his fellow cultists about the Crimson King's goals
Crimsonism is a religious, political and philosophical thought originating from the Never Never Land, based on the worship of The Crimson King, the strongest monarch in Hell.
It is it's own religion, not affiliated directly with Chernobog and his cult, but both of the deities have similar goals and religious mantras.
Info[]
There are many sects and soldiers of Crimsonism, most of whom work tirelessly to achieve their dark and scarlet master's goals, be it conquering neighbouring villages, small in populace, sacrificing strong souls to Him, or going door to door in different places, teaching people about their Lord's much different moral framework, kind of like Jehovah's witnesses of Earth. They have wrongly been confused with the Brotherhood of Shadow or the Cenobite Clan, two other cult groups from the Netherworld.
Before Crimsonism was actually founded, followers of The Crimson King followed Damien Thorn's orders, who is his son and considered the Antichrist. His orders were to murder humans and lost souls that came to Hell, when they refused to obey Damien's commands. However, Thorn and his followers faced some internal conflict in the Never Land, and worshippers of Shinnok claimed that the Crimson King nor Thorn were actually deities or the Antichrists and that they never fought with the Elder Gods, rather they were just wannabes with big egos, unlike Shinnok who challenged the Gods' power and position. This caused small-scale wars to break out between the two groups, with Shinnok's followers usually gaining the upper hand due to the larger number of members.
When Damien Thorn called for his father's help once he feared his group could be exterminated by the demonic bounty hunters that Shinnok send after them, a number of vampires living in the Netherworld agreed to align with Damien and his father, should he provide them assistance in finding Datusha, a magical sword known for killing vampires by possessing its wielder. Allied with the Morois, Thorn and his followers managed to beat their pursuers into submission and they returned to Shinnok's Tower empty-handed.
Keep in mind that while all of this history is important to Crimsonism, the actual religion has yet to be official, since The Crimson King wanted to see it for himself just how far Damien Thorn would take it.
Foundation[]
The religion was officially founded when Damien's new group of Oni, Vampire, Demon and damned souls who disagreed with Shinnok's rule, banded together to numerous cities in the Never Never Land to convert Shinnoknists and demons living there into Damien's father's religion. This is when the Crimson King showed up personally and congratulated Damien on everything he did in his name and named this religion Crimsonism. Shinnok would eventually send Quan Chi to make a peace deal with the Crimsonists and the two groups eventually became allies, with the Crimson King serving as one of the most powerful monarchs of Hell. When he singlehandedly defeated Kochal when the coin God wished to conquer the Pandemonium but was stopped when the Crimson King transformed into his arachnid form and was able to levitate objects around him and banished Kochal into the abyss.
Trivia[]
- There is a group of Crimsonists on Earth as well, working closely with organisations like Dixmor Project, the Freemasons and the Zin Empire to conquer the world. However, it is assumable that even when that happens, there will be internal conflict when the secret societies turn on each other. Unlike the Project or the Zins, though, these Crimsonists are not named and it's assumed they don't hold any true significant political power, instead only existing to perform rituals in the Crimson King's name, underground and sometimes for the Project and the aforementioned groups.
