The Cornet Brothers were a Jewish-British-American organised crime syndicate that ran bootlegging and gambling in Brimstone and Gold Town in 1880's and were top agents of Mayor Griffon of Brimstone, serving as his personal bodyguards. They were wiped out by Red Harlow or Manny Wide himself in 1887. They were led primarily by Jason Cornet and Jermone Cornet.
They were the sons of Agustine Cornet, who gambled at the High Stakes Poker in the Gold Town Hotel.
History[]
The Cornet Brothers were made up of Randy Cornet, Jay Cornet, Russ Cornet, Kirk Cornet, Brendon Cornet, Oswald Cornet, Jermone Cornet, Terry Cornet, Bryan Cornet, Richard Cornet, Mark Cornet and Jason Cornet, who ran a loansharking and bootlegging ring from Brimstone under Mayor Griffon's allowance. They got Bartlett on their hook, and he gave them intelligence about Chalky White, and how they could kill him to steal his vast treasury. However, they lynched one of his men, and they instead started robbing White's fronts, putting him out of business. The war with Chalky eventually ended when Griffon got his share of the gold from The Diablo Mine in Mexico by his buddy, Jacques Dixmor, and the Cornets rolled in gold instead. Sometime before the Mayor's alliance with Jacques, the brothers were involved in a gunfight with Cooper Red and his gang.
Jason Cornet has always been the most deadly Cornet, therefore, was the one who would stick the closest to the Mayor. He was also the oldest of the brothers.
The gang mostly ended when Red Harlow, Annie MacFarlane and Jack Swift raided Griffon's Mansion and killed most of the Cornet bros. Oswald was killed first, second was Randy, next were Bryan, Jay, Terry, Russ, Mark and the last one was Jason, who died in an duel with Red in mayor's office.
Jermone, Bryan and Kirk were the only brothers who survived the mansion shootout and they managed to kill one of the attackers: Jack Swift.
Kirk even managed to kill the retired Mexican Army private, Jose Hernandez, after he went berserk on the brothers for losing a cards game at the Brimstone Saloon.
It is mostly unknown how the survived brothers died.
