Charlie Mash is a minor enemy character and a bounty target featured in Red Dead Redemption part I, the American West and a minor boss character in Red Dead Revolver 3dn edition.
Info[]
Mash is wanted for property destruction and can be captured or killed depending on the player's choice. He is a member of the British's Gang and is known for causing troubles around the MacFarlane's ranch. In 3dn Edition, he works as a hired lackey for Nate Johnson.
Interactions[]
Revolver[]
Mash and his BFF show up at MacFarlane's Ranch to try to drive Boonie MacFarlane off her property. The player must fight them while playing as Boonie. They are eventually killed by her, and Jack Marston does not encounter them.
Showdown Mode[]
The player can unlock Charl Mash as a playable character in Showdown Mode by completing the mission "MacFarlane's Ranch" with an excellent rating or by purchasing the Branding Iron. His special ability grants him a lasso to use to hogtie or drag an opponent.
American West[]
Charlie appears during the mission "The Sport of Kings, and Liars", during which he is a participant in the horse race, storywise.
Charlie can most often be found around Thief's Town, frequently loitering inside the saloon and around the hotel. He can also be spotted around the docks or challenging Mexican gangsters to a duel as the two factions share some sorta rivalry. He can also be encountered during the Spider's Quarry gang hideout, though he will be hostile unless the player is wearing the British's Gang Outfit. Perhaps that's where he canonically dies and his clone then walks around Thief's Town. Goddam that Gait, right? He may also appear during a nightwatch job in MacFarlane's Ranch where he will rustle a man's horse or a cow. The player can either kill or hogtie Charlie and let the lawmen deal with him. Alternatively, he may try to steal some chickens.

Journal Entry[]
Mash was a famous cattle rustler and a thief. When the British's Gang decided to work for thousand of pieces of gold for Nate Johnson, the gang leaders Willie and Rufus Bollard practically owned the Gold Town Saloon. Mash and his buddy Grimes were later tasked by the Mayor to burn down Boonie's ranch.
Trivia[]
- Charlie shares the same character model as an officer of the Ugly Gang, Michael Reese. This is either due to Gait getting sloppy and running out of ingredients for outlaws or evolution just happened to create two humans with the exact same features who also happen to buy the exact same clothes at the exact store.
- When the player enters Thief's Town for the first time, Charlie may appear as a duellist. If the player accepts the challenge, the duel begins immediately without walking over to the start marker. This duel will however, be authorised by Marshall Deep One, being the only duel to be so.
- Sometimes, he rides through MacFarlane's Ranch and Silver Town as if he was a normal citizen. Although lawmen will arrest him on spot if they see him, making his ride short-lived.
