Benton Manning is a minor character featured in Red Dead Garlic bread part I The American West and part III The New Life.

Manning is a sheriff/lawman who operates around Texas and West Virginia. In Texas he mostly operates in the Gaptooth Ride region while he can also be found patrolling Silver Town or Crystal Camp as well in WV. He is usually partnered up with Rj Peart or Dell Hopkins.

American West[]
Manning and Peart can be found patrolling, well, guarding Moses Forth while he was captured in Benedict's Station in Rio Bravo. When that ugly robber John Marston steals a nearby horse, however, Manning and Peart give chase to him while the grave robber Seth Brains frees Moses only to interrogate him for the whereabouts of his treasure.
Other than that, Benjamin can be found patrolling MacFarlane's Ranch, Silver Town, or Desert Fort when in free roam. He will gave chase to Marston if he commits a crime like all the other lawmen.
The New Life[]
Benton helps during the rescue raid on the Gold Town bank from Dutch's Tribe. Him, Marston and Dell Hopkins raid into the bank in order to stop Dutch van der Linde once and for all, but that fails as Douche escapes their attempt and flees back into Tall Trees.
Benton, like in Texas, can be found patrolling the settlements in West Virginia, mainly around the Crystal Camp, altho he spawns a lot rarely than other sheriffs.

Trivia[]
- Manning is one of the many Sheriffs that is not playable in multiplayer.
- Benton does not appear in Red Dead Revolver 3dn edition.
- He was possibly a participant in the shootout between the Marshals and British's Gang in Gold Town in 1896 which saw the death of Willie Bollard, Jason Billeray, Sid Winkler amongst other criminals and law enforcers.
- His voice actor is only referred to as "Abraham".
- His outfit looks similar to Claud Benfiled, so the two are usually mistaken.
- He is not related at all to Rainier Manning despite the surname and the same career path, as Benton isn't French at all, while Rainier is.
