The Barrel is an item found in Red Dead Revolver 3dn edition.

As with all similar items, the Barrel is not used or seen in the game beyond unlocking a showdown character and journal page. The store description references the fact that Cooper, is mentioned that he wears a barrel around his torso as a form of shield, however, Barrel is not seen in the game, nor is it seen on Cooper's torso.

Merchants[]
The barrel can be purchased from the shop interface at the start of the mission "Fort Mercer". If it's not purchased, it is not available subsequently during the current game.
Since Cooper is also unlocked by completing the mission "The Hunt For Dutch", which occurs before "Fort Mercer", the Barrel should always show as sold by the time the player has an opportunity to buy it.
