- "Quite frankly, I don't give a Dimmadamn!"
- — Avery when told by his assistant that one of his workers is ill to death
Avery Dimmadome is a major character in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, but not Grand Theft Auto: Vice City's Serbian (BC) and a minor character in GTA: Liberty Sitty Stories. He is also mentioned in some other game series concerning politics, memes or economy.
Avery Dimmadome is a typical capitalist Republican and a friend of the Borlinghathen Dynasty. He owns the Dimmadome Buildings construction company and is a business partner, well co-owner of Cozy Actress film company and his advertisements can be heard on the radio. When he himself is on the radio, he complains about Bill Love, Al Gore and climate change while supporting Bob Dole and later Lucas Borlinghathen. He has also been involved with numerous criminal activities and organisations, including Sausage's Army from whom he bought drugs and even the Diaz Gang, apparently.
Biography[]
- "You've Dimmadone fuaked up now, son!"
- — Avery to his assassin
Avery DD Dimmadone was born and raised in Arlington, Texas and later moved to Vice City, located near Miami, and became a successful property magnate and real estate mogul. He helped himself with the wealth his father gave to him, for he was born in quite a rich family and like his relatives, was interested in a career of a CEO or a tycoon. Although a jokester, Avery was a brutal businessman who would use any tactics to gain more money and power, including gang warfare, drug trafficking, bribery, murder and even anarchy if it suits his needs to undermine a rival company. Despite being a Republican, Avery changes his social views if it means more money for him, like flip-flopping on abortion, racial and LGBT rights only to be able to hire more minorities to bust their SS off for him. Avery was heavily influenced by his father and knew Lucas Borlinghathen and his cousin, Vance Borlinghathen since they were teenagers, but he always despised Bill Love due to his economic and political views. He goes along pretty well with his younger bro, Doug Dimmadome.
In 10 BH or 1990, he is seen yelling orders to his workers at the Dimmadome Buildings in Tree's Point and is known as one of Florida's elite class members, attending Diaz Gang and Nacho's Gang house parties, showing he hangs out with drug lords in public. Avery, however, faces some problems from the Soft Express company, who refuse to sell their large land for Avery to conquer, and it serves as another further advanced construction site competing against him. Rumours have it that Bill Love's distant cousin owns the Softy Express. Ken Rosenberg, a Jewish lawyer introduces Avery to Tom Hagen, a mafia lawyer, who helps to drive Soft Express out of their land by bribing the mayor and a bunch of judges to hold the Express into submission. Dimmadome, impressed with Hagen's lawyering abilities and charisma, later hires him to save him from jail for committing a murder: Avery killed a farmer who refused to sell some of his farmlands to Dimmadome and later burnt down his entire farm, but all of the animals were outside the barn and sith and then he ordered a couple of hitmen to protest against farmers in town by destroying farmers' markets and vandalising diary companies. Hagen managed to save Dimmadome from doing time, telling the judge, D.A, the jury and the executioner holding the axe for a prop, that Dimmadome couldn't order the vandalising nor be present during the burning of the farmhouse as Avery was on vacation in Hawaii at the time and had his phone on "don't disturb", he never used it. The DA ate it up. After walking out of the wooden courthouse, Avery continues with his businesses and corruption before meeting a member of the Bloodmixer's Gang and asked him for help in creating a fuaking drug war. Avery hired Jack Mason to kill a member of the Diaz cartel, whom Avery promised to loan money to in case of a drug war breaking out. The Haitian Gang would take the blame and not only would it serve well Avery in making money through dope, the drive would also down property prices and Dimmadome would be even richer! DD said he'd use that money to buy himself an estate on the beach, filled with Confederate statues and sith. The process makes Avery rich af and he is never found out as the architect of the entire war. The Diaz bros took loans from him and Avery heightened up the interest rates and debts, swindling the American-Colombians. The war ended with the death of the Haitian leader and Avery bought the properties at a low price and did with them whatever he wanted.
Avery finally bought himself a mansion at the beach, but he continued to expand his business, appearing on a bunch of billboards in Los Angeles, Tampa, Atlanta and Mobile, sometimes even in support of a political candidate, like the case with Lucas Borlinghathen in 6 AH.
In 3 BH, Avery sent an e-mail to Tom Hagen where he says that Bill Love is corrupt and that he liked to take bribes from the mob and that he used to eat human flesh back in Outworld, making him no better than the alien btards the American Army fought against. Whether any of this is true is unknown and it is also unknown if Avery ever really served in the Outworld War or nah.
In 4 AH, he flies to an airport to meet with Sausage's Army to discuss plans to re-develop the organised crime-ravaged, corrupt police-controlled district of Fort Suntown in Staten Island, New York. A Blood Brother, Pedro, hears of his impending return and hires an assassin to kill him to acquire his real estate plans and for standing on their way of making a successful drug contraband, as the Bloody Bros wanted to get rid of Sausage and his men. The assassin fails however, and Avery hires even more bodyguards to defend him on the streets. Avery returns to Texas soon after this and has a coffee with Vance Borlinghathen.
