Nothing is known of Alex's background, other than that he is a town drunk along with his friend, Adam. He is also the older brother of Mr. Smith.

Alex can be found just about as anywhere in Miami at night or early in the morning, along with Adam, Jennie, Sykx, and Karl the Pimp. He can rarely be found at day, and he does not appear in Cayman Islands. Smith can sometimes even be found drinking near the Downtown bank and dancing at the U-Gin Shotgun Bar with Bruce Madison. Alex can also be found buying liquor from O'Grady's Liquor Store.
