— Adam when entering the rivalry with Simon

Adam Griffon is a major character in Sims 3 and series, living on Moonlight Bay with his family. He was a member of the very wealthy Griffon dynasty and the cousin to the former patriarch, Charles M. Griffon. While the family initially had a lot of money, being the Griffons, Adam eventually fell into great debt when he lost most of the family fortune against the Barrels and Abigail Peppercorn once while in Las Vegas in US. Because of that, the Griffon family (with their butler, Marlon Robins) had to move from their large mansion to a small house (for them at least) near a park and between two other houses, never again enjoying the privacy of living secluded. While his wife Beth, daughter and son Elizabeth and Simon, took this hard, they eventually managed to cool down as Beth still had enough money to pamper and spoil herself in bistros and spas around town which the extended Griffon family still owned, while the kids simply coped it over. In order to buy this house and repay at least 12% of his gambling debt to Abby, Adam had to hand his company over to her and he was demoted to the report processor rank, as opposed to the CEO, essentially being Abigail's whipping boy.

During a firestorm and an earthquake which destroyed the small Griffon house thanks to Pan the Satyr's curse, Adam was once again left penniless and his butler died in a fire while his daughter drowned in the bathtub. This was a tremendous blow for the family. His wife left him for a new husband soon after to cope with all of what just happened, so Adam and Simon were left in the poverty-ridden house.

However, once Adam managed to pray for some money at Pan's statue, he was given enough of it to buy himself and his son a brand new house far away on the other side of the island. Despite being his boss and him serving her loyally, Abigail didn't appreciate of Adam nosing into her plans and living in a... well, desirable living conditions, so she used her governmental connections to send a repoman or a debt collector to take away EVERY object Adam and Simon had in their new house. To add an insult to the already humiliating situation, the Griffons were just having guests over and they saw everything that was going on. This depressed Adam and Simon, so much so that the two started arguing for no apparent reason, other than Simon's downgrading school grades from all the stress he was getting.

Luck began to shine up for the two remaining Griffons once Olivia Roy, who worked for the same tower Adam worked in, saw potential in Adam and convinced Abby to return Adam some semblance of authority and give him the Vice President position. Abigail complied and Adam's pay was finally high enough to buy himself some new objects and furniture for his new, isolated, red house. Adam even had enough money to have a pool built at the back of the house.

Life began to turn for the worst when one day after returning from job and a restaurant he once owned, Adam found his son, Simon, drowning in the pool. Adam could't save him, so Simon died. This was actually another one of Pan the Satyr's tricks, who wanted Adam for himself and wanted him as his sad, depressed slave. Having no family left nor a heir, Adam slowly descended to madness. He started to look like he was 80 while he was only 61, his hair began to fall off, later even his moustache, he started to lose weight, wear casual clothes and on occasions even started dressing in Simon's jock clothes and pretended he was him by talking to himself near the pool, clearly suffering from a DPD or DID. He was in no mental capability to serve as Pan's dutiful servant, so Pan was okay with him just dying. He knew that once he would croak, he could still take his soul and have it for himself to torment.

Death[]

About four days after his mental breakdown and not coming to work, Adam died when he jumped into the same pool his son drowned in and drowned there himself.

He had no funeral because no one of the other Griffons decided to give him a proper burial and the local undertakers had to give the body to the Barrels and Spencers instead where they changed it to serve as a coral reef.

Trivia[]

  • Despite not being nearly as evil as the other Griffons before him, like Charles M. or Mayor Griffon, him and his family suffered a very harsh fate which ended painfully.
  • It is known that Adam never had the charisma, sharp wit, nor the stomach to lead a multi-billion corporation or an entire country like monopoly, like how Charles M. Griffon did, which could explain why his life was such a cruel story of misfortune events. Instead of being the hunter, he was the prey, which is unusual for a Griffon.
  • Before his daughter's death, rumours have it that Adam was planning for her to become his heir, not Simon, which could be due to his frequent arguments he had with him.
